Our Learning Framework

At Little Emu Academy, the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) guides everything we do. It helps educators create meaningful learning experiences that support children's development, wellbeing, confidence, communication skills, and sense of belonging.

Rather than focusing only on academic learning, the EYLF recognises that children learn through play, relationships, exploration, and everyday experiences. By following this framework, we can intentionally plan experiences that help every child reach their full potential and become capable, confident learners.

Every interaction, experience, and opportunity provided at our service is thoughtfully linked to children's learning, development, and growth.

❄️ Keeping Safe This Winter ❄️

As the colder weather continues, we ask all families to help us keep our children and educators healthy.

• Wash hands regularly with soap and water.
• Encourage children to wipe their noses with a tissue and wash their hands afterwards.
• Keep children at home if they are unwell.
• Notify the service if your child has a contagious illness or is experiencing symptoms such as fever, vomiting, diarrhoea or a persistent cough.
• Dress children appropriately for the cooler weather.

Working together helps reduce the spread of illness and keeps our Little Emu Academy community safe and healthy.

🌟 Miss Tamia has completed her Certificate III in Children’s Services
🌟 Miss Summer is also very close to completing her Diploma in Children’s Services

These achievements reflect all of their hard work, dedication, and commitment to providing the best care and education for our children each and every day.

🚦 Road Safety Week at Little Emu Academy 🚶‍♀️🚗

This week, children explored road safety through learning about road signs, traffic rules, and safe behaviours. A highlight was our excursion to the pedestrian crossing, where children practised safe crossing and observed real-life traffic.
These experiences help build children’s confidence, awareness, and understanding of how to stay safe in everyday environments. 🚦

🎒 Our Preschool Program Has Officially Begun!

We’re pleased to share that our preschool program is now underway. Over the coming weeks, we’ll also be commencing our weekly excursions to our local school, Emu Heights Public School.

These excursions provide a valuable and enjoyable opportunity for children and families to connect with their local community, build familiarity, and gently prepare for the transition into Kindergarten — starting their school journey right here from preschool at Little Emu Academy.
