DIY Sensory Bottle! 🌈

The Bamal children have been creating sensory bottles, which are a simple and engaging way to support children’s curiosity, focus, and sensory development.

To make your own:
• Fill a clear plastic bottle with water.
• Add glitter, sequins, pom-poms, beads, or small colourful objects.
• A drop of food colouring can add extra visual appeal.
• Secure the lid tightly (glue it closed for extra safety).

Children can shake, roll, and observe the bottle as the contents move and settle, encouraging calmness, concentration, and exploration.

Give it a try at home and let your little ones create their very own sensory masterpiece! 🌈💙

Multicultural Week at the Service 🍃

From 15th July to 19th July, the service will be celebrating the many cultures that make our community have.

We invite families to get involved by sharing:
🍽️ A traditional cultural dish from your heritage
👘 Traditional clothing that represents your culture

This is a wonderful opportunity for children to learn about different cultures, traditions, foods, and customs while developing an appreciation for the diversity within our community.

We look forward to celebrating together and learning from one another throughout this special week!

Nature Photography Day 🌿

The Bamal children set off on an adventure to Smiths Creek to explore the natural environment through photography. As they wandered through the area, they carefully observed their surroundings and captured photos of the land, bushes, and the beauty of nature around them.

Along the way, the children made an exciting discovery, some wiggly worms! This sparked lots of curiosity, conversation, and opportunities to learn more about the creatures that live in our environment. 🪱

World Ocean Day 🪼

The Badu children explored a variety of ocean-themed sensory experiences as we celebrated World Ocean Day. Through hands-on play and discussion, the children shared their knowledge and ideas about the ocean, identifying and talking about different sea animals they could see, including fish, turtles, crabs, and more.

The Badu Room are exploring the fascinating world of insects, following the children’s growing interest in bugs and creepy crawlies! 🐛🌿

🔍 Our insect investigation area has been intentionally designed as an open-ended learning space, allowing children to explore, question, discover, and extend their knowledge at their own pace.

By following the children’s interests, we are supporting their curiosity, critical thinking, and scientific inquiry skills while encouraging a lifelong love of learning.

The children explored their Connection to Country through a sensory and role-play experience.

Using coloured rice and a selection of natural resources, the children engaged in hands-on exploration, imaginative play, and meaningful conversations about the land and the environment around us. Through scooping, pouring, sorting, and creating, the experience encouraged curiosity, sensory development, and a sense of belonging.

Simple experiences like these provide opportunities for children to connect with nature, explore cultural perspectives, and learn through play in a calm and engaging environment.

Our preschool children enjoyed a meaningful excursion to Smiths Creek during Reconciliation Week, where they explored the importance of “Connection to Country” through a beautiful bush walk. 🌿

The children immersed themselves in nature, listened to the sounds of the land, observed the environment around them, and reflected on the deep connection Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have with Country.

Experiences like these help foster respect, understanding, and appreciation for Australia’s rich cultural heritage.

Our preschool children have been diving into the fascinating world of reptiles 🐍🦎

Through hands-on sensory play, the children explored different textures, colours, and environments inspired by their growing interest in reptiles. These meaningful experiences encourage curiosity, imagination, language development, and confidence as children learn through play and discovery.

What an exciting adventure our little learners are on! 🌿✨
