📣Recently, our Year 12 Drama students took to the stage for their Group and Individual Performance monitoring task. Their work is looking fantastic, and we’re excited for the Drama Showcase next term. 🎭

💫Congratulations to our talented students and a big thankyou to the dedicated staff who help bring their creativity and talent to life.

📣Our Year 7 students travelled through time as they stepped into the shoes of young historians during a hands‑on History Incursion. Students explored a curated collection of artefacts ranging from ancient civilisations to the modern era, analysing primary sources like pottery, tools, coins, letters and photographs, alongside secondary sources that helped deepen their understanding.

This immersive experience encouraged students to:

* Think critically as they examined clues from the past

* Interpret evidence to build historical meaning

* Connect culture and context through the stories artefacts tell

👏A warm thank you to Mr Stevens for guiding our students through this engaging and insightful journey.

🏉Last Thursday, 4 June, our Open’s Rugby League boys took on Aquinas College in the 25th Annual Shaun Simpson Shield - a match honouring our former College Captain whose legacy continues to inspire us.

This special fixture commemorates Shaun, who was not only a talented Rugby League player but also a young man who embodied the very best of our College virtues before sadly losing his battle with cancer in 2001. ✨

We are pleased to share that our team was victorious, allowing St Pat’s to retain the Shield in Shaun’s honour. We extend our sincere thanks to Shaun’s brother, Nathan, and his mother, Sylvia, for joining us and presenting the Shield to our players. Congratulations to Hugh Windon, who was awarded Man of the Match.

We would also like to thank Southern Districts Rugby Club for their generosity in allowing us to use their facilities.

A special acknowledgement goes to one of our Year 12 students, Tiernan Cooper, whose initiative and assistance helped make this connection possible. In addition, we were incredibly proud of our Year 11 and Year 12 spectators, who conducted themselves respectfully and cheered on their peers with pride.

May this tradition with Aquinas College continue to honour Shaun’s memory for many years to come. Vale Shaun.

Yesterday, our Year 11 SRC attended the Resilient Leadership Forum at the UOW Loftus Campus, hosted by Maryanne Stuart MP - Member for Heathcote.✨

Led by Yehansa from We. Future Leaders, the day featured an incredible lineup of speakers including Gotcha4Life, Project Youth, Cronulla Sharks NRLW, UOW, doctors and art therapists.

Our students explored how to become resilient leaders, learning to stay true to their values, use their resources wisely, and create a meaningful impact in their world.

We're so proud of how our students represented our College and can't wait to see them lead with strength, empathy and purpose.🚀👏

🌞What a meaningful Staff Spirituality Day we shared last Friday!

We began the day with Mass at St Patrick’s Church, giving thanks to Father Richard for his guidance and presence. 🙏

Our day continued into the city where we visited the St Anthony of Padua Relics at St Mary’s Cathedral, a beautiful shared lunch and a breathtaking Sistine Chapel Experience - an inspiring exhibition we highly recommend before it closes on 19 July 2026.

✨Thank you to Mr Curran for organising such a great day full of reflection, faith and shared connection.
