Our little explorers enjoyed a wonderful nature-based learning experience!

The children explored the different textures of seeds, succulents, and potatoes, engaging their senses through hands-on discovery. They planted succulent leaves, sprouting seeds, and potatoes, learning about how plants grow and thrive.
The children also collected flowers and leaves from the garden and used the light box to observe their capillary systems, sparking curiosity about how plants transport water and nutrients.

A day filled with exploration, wonder, and connection to nature!

As Reconciliation Week came to a close last Wednesday, our children participated in a range of meaningful, age-appropriate experiences that encouraged learning, respect, and connection to the land around us.

Through stories, creative arts, and nature-based exploration, the children explored Indigenous symbols, landscapes, animals, and natural materials found across Australia. They enjoyed drawing symbols in the sand, creating coloured sand landscapes to match native animals and their habitats, painting handprints and symbols, painting on bark, and using leaves, gumnuts, rocks, and bark to create a collaborative Australian landscape map.

We also shared carefully selected children's books and music that introduced aspects of Australia's history and culture in authentic, engaging, age-appropriate ways for young learners. These experiences sparked curiosity, creativity, and conversations about caring for our environment and appreciating the many stories that make Australia unique.
