International Yoga Day

At Kinderland our Dolphins and Sharkies children participated in a variety of yoga poses and mindful movement activities guided by their educators. The children practised stretching, balancing and breathing techniques while exploring ways to keep their bodies healthy and strong. These experiences supported physical development, concentration and emotional wellbeing while encouraging children to work together, follow instructions and enjoy moments of calm and relaxation. 🧘‍♂️

At Kinderland our Dolphins and Sharkies enjoyed a creative rainbow making activity using playdough, paddle pop sticks and colourful beads. They carefully rolled and shaped the play dough, arranged the paddle pop sticks and added beads to create bright rainbow designs. This hands on experience encouraged creativity, fine motor skill development, hand eye coordination and colour recognition. The children were engaged in problem solving and proudly shared their unique rainbow creations with their peers.

At Kinderland our starfish and turtles children explored Australian animals through imaginative and sensory play using a variety of animal figures and natural materials. As they interacted with the animals the children engaged in conversations about different Australian wildlife, their habitats and unique characteristics. This hands on experience encouraged curiosity, language development and social interaction while supporting children's understanding of the natural world. Working together to create animal environments also fostered cooperation, creativity and problem solving skills.

At Kinderland our Dolphins and Sharkies children engaged in a creative turtle making activity using craft sticks and string. As they carefully wrapped and threaded the string around the craft sticks they developed fine motor skills, hand eye coordination and concentration. The activity encouraged problem solving and perseverance as children explored different ways to create their turtles. Children proudly shared their completed creations with their peers, fostering confidence, creativity and a sense of achievement.

Our Starfish and turtles children enjoyed preparing a simple snack by spreading butter and Vegemite onto Salada crackers. This hands on cooking experience encouraged independence, hand eye coordination and fine motor skill development as children practised spreading and assembling their own snack. Children also explored healthy eating concepts, followed simple instructions and engaged in conversations about taste, texture, and their favourite foods, promoting confidence and social interaction.

At Kinderland our Dolphins and Sharkies children engaged in a creative alphabet faces activity using letters to design unique and imaginative faces. Through drawing, colouring and adding facial features children explored letter recognition while developing their fine motor skills and creativity. This hands on experience encouraged problem solving, self expression and early literacy skills as children identified and discussed different letters and sounds.

At Kinderland International Picnic Day provided a wonderful opportunity for the children to come together and enjoy a shared picnic experience with their friends. The children helped prepare their picnic setting, packed pretend lunch bags, explored different foods and engaged in meaningful conversations during group time. They also participated in creative collage activities carefully arranging and gluing food pictures while developing their fine motor skills, creativity and hand eye coordination. This experience encouraged social interaction, cooperation and a sense of belonging as children shared ideas, practised turn taking, and celebrated the joy of eating and learning together.

At Kinderland our Dolphins and Sharkies children enjoyed a creative sushi making experience using a variety of craft materials to create their own pretend sushi rolls. As they carefully selected, stacked and arranged the pieces, they explored shapes, colours, and patterns while developing their fine motor skills and hand eye coordination. The activity encouraged creativity, problem solving and cooperative play as children shared materials, exchanged ideas and proudly displayed their unique sushi creations. This hands on experience also supported conversations about different foods and cultures, fostering curiosity and a love of learning through imaginative play.

Our Starfish and Turtle’s children participated in a fun and engaging number ball and colour matching tunnel activity. The educator set up colourful tunnels and matching balls, encouraging the children to identify colours and numbers taking turns in placing the balls into the correct coloured number tunnel. This hands on experience supported the development of colour and number recognition, hand eye coordination, fine and gross motor skills and early problem solving abilities. The children showed great enthusiasm as they explored the activity, followed instructions and celebrated their successes with their peers. Through this learning activity the children built confidence, social skills and a sense of achievement while having fun together.
