The best way to do this is to email us at courses [at] writerscentre.com.au. We get so many self-promoting posts that we delete any self-promoting post on the wall, but we're happy to promote relevant opportunities once we've been emailed the details.

The next time the words won’t come, don’t ask “what’s wrong with me?” Ask “what am I afraid of, what am I trying to make perfect, or how tired am I?” Nine times out of ten, the answer is right there.
Tell me in the comments: which one gets you most? Fear, perfectionism, or exhaustion?

A crime writer needs to plot a body. A copywriter needs to sell a sofa. A memoirist needs to not get sued by their family. Sure, it’s all writing but you need completely different toolkits, which is why we don’t run one big “how to write” course and call it a day.
50+ courses, up to 40% off right now. Tell me in the comments what you’re writing and I’ll point you to the one.

I always wanted to be a writer. Even when I was very young, I loved books and reading and writing, but when it came to choosing a career, I simply had no idea how to make this happen. I didn’t know any writers, and I just didn’t even think of it as a viable pathway. I didn’t know how to get there, and so, of course, I became an accountant! Logical, right?!
It took a while before I figured out what I needed to do to make my dream a reality. I took baby steps, slowly finding my way into the world of writing, journalism, and publishing. Eventually, I created the Australian Writers’ Centre because this is EXACTLY the kind of place that I wish I had existed when I was making my first tentative steps into the world of writing. Now I’m so honoured to play just a small part in other people’s journeys, as they discover the wonderful world of writing and creativity.
