Last night was a wonderful occasion as Youthworks College Principal Mike Dicker was ordained as a presbyter at St Andrew's Cathedral, a beautiful acknowledgment of his godly character and commitment to leading others to know and love Christ.

We're especially proud that Mike was joined by fellow Youthworks College graduates Tim Ash and Thom Elms, meaning half of those ordained last night came through College!

Youthworks CEO Craig Roberts had the privilege of preaching on Psalm 96 for the occasion, sharing, "So good to see three Youthworks College graduates among the six ordinands."

A presbyter (from the Greek presbuteros, meaning "elder") is entrusted with caring for the wider church and teaching God's word.

Congratulations Mike, Tim and Thom, we're so grateful to see you raised up, and continuing to seek to engage hearts and minds with the gospel.

A real buzz in the room tonight at our Theology Think Tank. The question of why young people leave the church is one that clearly resonates - the engagement in the room speaks for itself. We're now in workshop mode, digging deeper into the conversation.

Today we enjoyed being part of the Christian Providers Event at Cedars Christian College, speaking with senior students about career and study options for ministry to children and young people, and pathways into teaching.

We are thankful for the opportunity to share about the different pathways available through Youthworks College and the Centre for Christian Education.

Are you considering a degree in education, or currently a teacher? Join us this Saturday, 23 May (10–11am) at Youthworks College, Newtown, for our Centre for Christian Education Info Day to find out more.
