Building strength one scoop of sand at a time.😊
After visiting the roadworks near our preschool and observing the construction workers, machinery and freshly laid asphalt, the children returned eager to recreate what they had seen. Using trucks and road parts, they worked together to build their own construction site, making sense of their observations through play. This is the power of play based learning, children processing real world experiences, exploring ideas, developing language, and deepening their understanding in meaningful ways.

Making our mark in phonics! ✏️ Today we explored the letter sound /s/ in the salt tray, practising the correct formation while engaging our senses. Sensory writing is a fun and hands on way to build early literacy skills and strengthen fine motor development. 🌟

Today we explored two very different ocean environments in our water tuff tray! One side was a warm tropical ocean filled with colourful sea creatures, while the other represented the icy Arctic waters. As the children played, they discussed the differences between the habitats, the animals that live there, and how oceans around the world support so much life. 🐢🐋🐧

📐🏗️ Future architects at work! We have been exploring what architects do and how they design the spaces around us. From investigating famous buildings to creating our own dream playgrounds, the children have been drawing plans, measuring, building, testing materials and solving problems together. We have loved seeing their creativity, teamwork and big ideas come to life! ✨ DreamPlaygrounds

This week for National Reconciliation Week, the children explored the many different Aboriginal nations and language groups across Australia. Together we looked at maps, discussed how Aboriginal people have cared for Country for tens of thousands of years, and learnt that there are many different communities, cultures, languages and traditions.
The children showed curiosity and respect as they explored the diversity and richness of Aboriginal culture, helping to build an understanding of belonging, connection to Country, and respect for First Nations peoples. ❤️🖤💛
