What better way to learn than through real-life experiences? During our pasta excursion, the children had the opportunity to visit a local pasta shop, explore the different types of pasta available, and make thoughtful choices about what to purchase for our lunch.

Back at the centre, the children took part in preparing and cooking the pasta before sitting down together to enjoy the meal they had helped create. Through this hands-on experience, children developed practical life skills, strengthened their independence, and gained a deeper understanding of where food comes from and the journey it takes from shop to plate.

Experiences like these foster confidence, responsibility, and a genuine appreciation for food, all while creating meaningful memories with friends.

✨ We bought it, we cooked it, and we enjoyed it together! ✨

🍎 🥬From Farm to Table
Today our children enjoyed a wonderful excursion to Sun's Fresh Farm ☀️ , our local fruit and vegetable supplier right next door to Kynd Montessori Learning Centre!
The children had the exciting opportunity to select and purchase fresh fruits and vegetables that will be used in our cooking experiences and healthy snacks throughout the week. By being actively involved in choosing our produce, children develop a deeper understanding of where food comes from and the journey it takes before reaching our plates.
As part of our regular Calmsley Hill City Farm visit, the children also spent time with the farm animals, learning about their important role in our environment and food systems.
This meaningful experience forms part of our Kynd Eco-Warriors Program, where we nurture children’s understanding of sustainability, environmental responsibility, and the connection between people, animals, and nature. Through real-world experiences, children develop respect for our planet while learning how small choices can make a big difference.

✨News Time in the Toddler Room. At Kynd Montessori, even our youngest learners have a voice!

During News Time, our toddlers are invited to bring along a special item, photo, or share an experience with their friends. Standing proudly in front of their peers, they practice speaking, listening, and expressing their thoughts while building confidence in a supportive environment.

The learning doesn’t stop there! Their friends are encouraged to ask questions, helping to develop curiosity, conversation skills, turn-taking, and respectful communication.

Why is this so beneficial?

🤍Builds confidence and self-esteem
🤍Develops language and communication skills
🤍Encourages active listening
🤍Strengthens memory and recall
🤍Promotes social connections and friendships
🤍Supports critical thinking through questioning
🤍Helps children become comfortable speaking in front of a group

This experience is part of our Kynd Bloomers Program, where we focus on developing the essential skills children need for a successful transition to school. Through meaningful opportunities like News Time, our toddlers are already building the foundations of school readiness, one conversation at a time.

Community Connections: Learning from a Local GP 🩺

Today we were incredibly fortunate to welcome one of our wonderful parents, who is also a local General Practitioner, to share her knowledge and experiences with our children.

During this engaging community incursion, the children explored a variety of real medical equipment, learned about the important role doctors play in keeping us healthy, and had the opportunity to ask questions and interact with the tools used in everyday healthcare.

Experiences like these help children build confidence, reduce anxiety around medical visits, develop an understanding of health and wellbeing, and strengthen their connection to the wider community. It was wonderful to see the children’s curiosity come to life as they listened, explored, and learned through hands-on experiences.

A heartfelt thank you to our special guest for generously sharing her time, expertise, and passion with our Kynd Montessori children. 💙

📚Welcome to our Kynd Library Corner 📚

What started as a wonderful excursion to our local library has now blossomed into something very special within our own community.

Each week, children from both our Toddler and Preschool classrooms visit our newly created library space in the foyer, where a special educator becomes the “Librarian of the Day.” Together, they enjoy an interactive story time, explore a carefully curated collection of books, and borrow a book to take home in their very own personalised Kynd library bag.

This exciting initiative is about so much more than borrowing books. It is an opportunity to foster a lifelong love of literature, strengthen language development, expand vocabulary, encourage communication skills, and support early speech and literacy foundations through meaningful experiences.

As part of our Kynd Bloomers program, this space will continue to evolve with exciting language-rich experiences designed to nurture confident communicators and passionate readers.

This is only the beginning... 🌱

Stay tuned as we share the many exciting ways we are bringing stories, language, imagination, and literacy to life at Kynd Montessori Learning Centre.

As educators and parents, our words shape the way children see themselves, others, and the world around them. Sometimes the phrases we say out of habit can unintentionally limit independence, confidence, and emotional growth.
