It was all smiles and cheers during lunchtime today as our Year 12 girls marked a decade of the much-loved Girls Meet Curls event. More than 50 students came together on our iconic Harbour Terrace, where they were cheered on by friends and family as they had their hair cut, all in support of The Tie Dye Project.

Co-founded by KRB alumnae Amy and Lara Parmenter, The Tie Dye Project has raised more than one million dollars for sarcoma cancer clinical trials and research. Over the past month, our students have taken part in a variety of fundraising initiatives in support of Tie Dye, with an initial goal of raising $50,000. We are delighted to share that this has now surpassed $54,000.

We are incredibly proud of the girls, whose willingness to step forward in support of such an important cause reflects the very best of KRB. Through this collective effort, they have demonstrated the power of community and the difference that can be made when people come together for a purpose greater than themselves.

Congratulations to all involved and thank you to everyone who has supported the campaign.

A huge congratulations to the KRB Rugby 7s team who picked up a well-deserved win in the Stainforth Shield Junior Division over the weekend.

Our A and B teams played 3 pool games, each taking on Monte, Barker, NEGS and Frensham. A team then qualified for the major final series undefeated where they locked in a win over Monte in the semifinal, before taking on NEGS in the final and emerging with an impressive 35-7 victory!

Throughout the tournament, the girls showcased the teamwork, resilience, and positive spirit that are hallmarks of sporting life at our school. Their commitment to one another and the way they represented the school both on and off the field is a wonderful reflection of the Sacred Heart values that guide our community each day.

Congratulations to all players and coaches on this outstanding achievement!

It was a privilege to honour our Senior School students for their outstanding academic achievements this semester at our recent assemblies!

Principal’s Honours awards were presented to Year 11 and 12 students who have achieved exemplary results across their full academic program, and Application to Learning Awards to those who have demonstrated significant academic growth throughout the semester. Outstanding assessment results across one or more subjects were also acknowledged, recognising individual academic excellence across a range of disciplines.

The assemblies celebrated the breadth of achievement within Year 11 and 12 and the excellent progress made by students throughout Semester 1.

Well done, girls!

Our Chapel glowed vibrantly with light, colour and song last Thursday night as our Boarders gathered for the Procession of Lanterns, a cherished tradition where students process through the School Chapel singing hymns by candlelight. This beautiful tradition dates back to 1892 and is shared with Sacred Heart Schools worldwide.

Each Boarder receives a customised lantern, and as the candles are lit, they weave through the Chapel, honouring the Sacred Heart and guided by Year 12 leaders. The altar, adorned with candles in the shape of a heart, added to the wonder and reverence of the occasion.

As the procession concluded in Chapel Square and the lanterns gently dimmed, there was a shared sense of reflection, gratitude and connection, a reminder of the enduring traditions and strong sense of community that make KRB so special.

Tonight marks the final night of Vivid Sydney for 2026, and what an extraordinary three weeks it has been here at KRB.

Since 22 May, our school has been a shining light that could be seen from vantage points all around the harbour.

Our Shining a Light events have seen us welcome hundreds of visitors to our beautiful heritage campus - from current families and alumnae to those discovering a KRB education for the first time.

It has been a stunning, beautifully realised and truly inspirational installation, which also enabled a range of student opportunities for extension in STEM while fostering creativity and curiosity.

From all of us at KRB, including Rosie - thank you for being part of this special activation.

As we sign off tonight, we’re grateful for the connection and sense of community that made it so memorable.

It was all smiles around the KRB campus today we celebrated Sacred Heart Day, a vibrant and meaningful occasion that reflects our deep-rooted Sacred Heart values. One of the most anticipated events on the KRB calendar, the day brings together students, staff, and parents in a joyful expression of school spirit.

After a beautiful Mass held in the MTC to start the day, Fernon Fields was transformed into a sea of red and white as students joined a host of exciting activities as part of the fete with games, stalls and even a jumping castle with a slide!

The day wrapped up with the beloved tradition of the Sacred Heart Dance on the Harbour Terrace. As always, our dedicated team of Year 11 students did a stellar job of leading the school through the dance number, which this year was a lively performance of Meghan Trainor's Better When I'm Dancin'.

More than just a day of celebration, Sacred Heart Day is a wonderful reminder of what makes Kincoppal-Rose Bay so special. From the energy and enthusiasm of our students to the dedication of our staff, the day reflected the spirit of Cor Unum, One Heart, that sits at the centre of our community.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed to making the day such a success. We are grateful to be part of a community that comes together with such joy, kindness and school spirit.

Our talented Year 11 Drama students have been hard at work devising their Brechtian performance, “Courage… Mother and the Business of War.”

Directed by Hayley Flowers and produced by Chloe Sidney, this thought-provoking piece reimagines Mother Courage and Her Children in a contemporary world, taking a sharp look at global industry and the imbalances within it. Biting satire, striking theatricality, and bold storytelling are brought to life entirely by the Year 11 cohort as they step into a future that feels uncomfortably close.

The one-night-only performance debuts on June 22nd and is free admission. Tickets available via Trybooking. Link in bio

As Sydney comes alive during Vivid, the bright young minds at KRB have been exploring the creativity, technology and innovation behind immersive light installations through a variety of hands-on STEM projects as part of Shining a Light!

As part of the HaloHD Junior Project, students experimented with Micro:bit software and LED lights, using creative coding to program lighting effects, patterns and interactions while discovering how digital systems can control real-world installations.

Senior students tackled two ambitious projects, designing and building infinity mirror light boxes and a vibrant LED tunnel. Along the way, they developed skills in laser-cutting, electronics, programming and creative problem-solving. Both installations were showcased at our recent evening events on campus.

These senior students also enjoyed a behind-the-scenes visit to the Vivid Sydney control room, gaining valuable insight into the technology and teamwork that help bring one of Australia's most iconic festivals to life.

Congratulations to all students across the school who took part - your creativity, curiosity and dedication embody the spirit of KRB.

It was a whirlwind two days for our Year 6 students as they embarked on an exciting excursion to Canberra last month.

Designed to support learning across several curriculum areas, students visited iconic sites such as the Australian War Memorial, the National Capital Authority, and Questacon – the National Science and Technology Centre.

A highlight of the trip was the opportunity to tour Parliament House at the invitation of the local MP for Wentworth, Allegra Spender, who spoke with students and provided insight into Parliament.

Students were also fortunate to witness a live debate and even had the opportunity to watch Prime Minister Anthony Albanese address the chamber.

It was an incredible trip for our students. Here are some reflections from the cohort, who agree the excursion has been a highlight of their year so far!

"I enjoyed experiencing the reality of politics, beyond what we see on the news. Museums took me on a journey of the past and present. Learning about the difference Australians have made has inspired me to create a difference in society.” - Mia C

"We had an amazing 2 days away in Canberra! It was so cool getting to check out these famous, fun places and learn about Australia’s history with friends.” - Lomani G

"Canberra was a joyful experience that taught us a lot about its culture and history. We discovered new places and secrets about Canberra, and we are very grateful to learn these amazing facts.” - Claudia J
