Fabulous work to the talented Transition class on the annual Transition Visual Arts Exhibition! ๐จ
This year's exhibition theme was 'The World on a Plate', which the girls explored through ceramics, drawing, miniature painting, photography, and mixed-media sculpture to create their tactile "tasting menu". Each piece reflects a unique perspective on the power of a shared meal to build community and preserve memory.
Congratulations to our Transition students on their inspiring artworks and for sharing their creativity with the PLC Sydney community โค๏ธ

What a game! Last Friday we had the Staff vs Students netball game during lunchtime in Thompson Hall, where a team of (brave) staff members faced some of Year 12's finest netballers ๐๐
Featuring fantastic student commentary and a lively soundtrack, Thompson Hall was alive with excitement and school spirit as these two teams battled it out for victory ๐
With a final score of 15-14, the student team secured their win while the staff team graciously accepted their defeat.

As part of their role on the Strathfield Youth Advisory Board, PLC Sydney students Angeline and Hannah (Year 11) recently attended NSW Parliament, joining fellow student representatives from local schools for a valuable opportunity to engage with the democratic process and share their perspectives on issues affecting young people.
The girls visited the parliamentary chambers, explored the workings of government, and participated in conversations about the importance of youth perspectives in decision-making. They also had the opportunity to ask questions, exchange ideas and hear from community leaders about the role they can play in shaping the future.
A highlight of the day was meeting NSW Premier Chris Minns, who took time to welcome the students and acknowledge the value of young people being actively involved in civic conversations.
Well done to Angeline and Hannah for representing the College through their thoughtful contributions, curiosity and commitment to making a positive impact in their community.

The fantastic Year 11 Vietnam Committee hosted the annual Vietnam Trivia Night, where over 300 guests embraced this year's theme 'Duos and Trios' and joined us in support of the Ba Vi Centre for people with disabilities โค๏ธ
Thank you to our three fantastic hosts Edwina Soh, Clare Jarrett, and Ella (Year 12), who guided the evening with flair, keeping the energy high as dedicated trivia buffs competed for the evening's prestigious honors.
The night also offered an exciting selection of silent auction items, as well as live music performed by a group of talented Year 11 and 12 students. Not to mention the inaugural 'Bobs for Ba Vi' initiative which saw 20 students cut their hair live as a fundraiser ๐โโ๏ธ๐๏ธ๐ถ
Our students who visited Ba Vi in April led the evening with profound love and compassion. We also extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff volunteers who made this success possible.

โ$24,000 raised and counting โค๏ธ
This year at the Vietnam Trivia Night, a group of students from Years 11 and 12 made the bold commitment to cut their hair to money for the Ba Vi Centre in Vietnam.
The initiative was born from the realisation that many residents at the Ba Vi Centre lack the autonomy to style their hair, with many required to keep their hair shaved for medical reasons or ease of care. In a powerful show of solidarity, the students received a 'bob' haircut live in Thompson Hall.
Hair may grow back, but this small gesture served as a powerful testament of care and love for the Ba Vi community โค๏ธ
A very special thank you to the incredible hairdressers who volunteered their time and expertise to make this happen - Maureen, Lori, Franco, Huong, and Theresa - and of course a huge thank you to everyone who showed their support for this initiative.
