What are Play Schemas? ๐ง โจ
Play schemas are repeated patterns of play that children naturally explore as they learn about the world around them. You might notice your child constantly carrying items, wrapping things up, spinning objects, lining toys up, or building and knocking things down โ this is all important learning through play!
Schemas help children develop problem-solving, coordination, creativity, confidence and early thinking skills.
Play schemas are most commonly seen from birth to around 5 years, but older children may continue to explore them too.
At Miranda Pre-Kindergarten, we value childrenโs interests and use schema play to support meaningful, hands-on learning experiences every day ๐

๐ฝโจ Toilet training is a journey, not a race! Every child develops at their own pace, and recognising when they are ready can make all the difference.
One of the first signs of readiness is children becoming aware of when they are wet and beginning to cue that they want their nappy changed or removed. Small steps, like offering a sit on the toilet during each nappy change, can help build confidence and familiarity in a positive, pressure-free way ๐
Weโve put together this helpful guide for families to support your toilet training journey at home. Remember โ patience, consistency and celebrating the little wins go a long way! ๐
Have questions about toilet training? Our educators are always here to help ๐ค

We absolutely LOVE exploring art and craft in early childhood! ๐จโจ
Creative experiences give children the opportunity to express themselves, explore their imaginations, and proudly showcase their unique ideas. Whether we are painting, cutting, gluing, drawing, or creating with different materials, every craft experience supports childrenโs learning and development in meaningful ways.
Through art, children are building fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, creativity, problem-solving skills, communication, confidence, and independence โ all while having so much fun!
These experiences align with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF):
โข Outcome 4: Children are confident and involved learners
โข Outcome 5: Children are effective communicators
Our craft experiences also support QA1 โ Educational Program and Practice by encouraging hands-on learning, creativity, exploration, and active engagement within our learning environment. ๐๐
