The Aftermath!
In a world of perfectly curated Pinterest and Instagram sensory set-ups… we’re just here to normalise this!
A mud kitchen covered in puddles. Bowls overflowing with potions. Herbs, petals, sticks and muddy spoons scattered everywhere.
Because this is what a morning of deep, meaningful play really looks like.
Within all of this beautiful mess, children are exploring science as they mix, test and hypothesise. They’re discovering mathematics through measuring, pouring and comparing. They’re developing language as they negotiate, imagine and tell stories together. They’re building friendships, problem-solving, collaborating and creating worlds filled with wonder.
Sometimes, the richest learning leaves the biggest mess.
And we wouldn’t have it any other way. ✨

🌟✨ What an extraordinary afternoon we had here at Cressy! ✨🌟
We spent the afternoon eagerly waiting for the sun to set so that we could witness the Venus–Jupiter conjunction in the night sky.
The children learnt that these two planets would appear like bright stars, shining very close to one another, with Mercury nearby. Armed with our compass and a sense of wonder, we headed out into the garden to locate the western sky and wait for this captivating celestial event.
It took a little time and a lot of patience, but once we spotted the planets, the excitement was palpable! 🌙✨
Moments like these remind us just how magical the world around us can be.
Did you spot them too? 🌟

…If only all our worries were this gentle, this curious, this softly held. 🍃
At Cressy Road Early Learning, we honour moments like these as windows into children’s inner worlds. We know that emotions are not something to “fix” or rush through, but something to understand, to sit with, and to gently guide.
Drawing from the work of Dr Bruce Perry and Nathan Wallis, we support children through a neurosequential approach — recognising that regulation comes before reasoning. Through connection, co-regulation, and feeling safe in their bodies, children begin to make sense of their emotions.
We create space for this every day — through shared stories, group connection times, and the quiet, everyday moments where feelings are named, normalised, and held with care.
Because when children feel safe to explore their worries… even the ones hiding on leaves… they begin to understand that all feelings belong. 💛🌿
