👋 Ni Hao from Little Lion North Epping! 😁

🎉 We’re excited to introduce our weekly Mandarin classes, now part of our educational program at Little Lion North Epping.

📝 Learning a second language from an early age can support children‘s cognitive development, strengthen memory and problem-solving skills, enhance communication abilities, and foster a greater appreciation for different cultures and perspectives.

🎵 Most importantly, our children learn through play. Our Mandarin classes are filled with music, movement, dancing, games, storytelling, and hands-on experiences that make learning fun, engaging, and meaningful. By connecting language learning with play-based experiences, children build confidence and develop a natural curiosity about the world around them.

💃 Watching our little learners sing, dance, laugh, and explore a new language together has been an absolute joy!

🏫 Looking for a childcare centre that offers enriching learning experiences in a warm and nurturing environment? Book a tour at Little Lion North Epping today and discover what makes our community so special.

👀 What’s inside the fire truck? 🚒

Our children were beyond excited to welcome the NSW Fire Department Fire and Rescue NSW and even had the opportunity to step inside a REAL fire truck! 🚒 Seeing all the equipment up close and exploring the truck was such a special experience that had everyone smiling from ear to ear.

The firefighters were so kind, patient, and engaging with our children, taking the time to answer questions, share important fire safety knowledge, and make every child feel included. From learning when to call 000 to practising getting down low and crawling to safety, our little learners gained valuable skills while having so much fun.

A huge thank you to the amazing fire crew Fire and Rescue NSW for visiting us and creating such a memorable experience. We are so grateful for the time you spent with our children, and we’re delighted to see how much they enjoyed themselves while learning important life-saving information.

We think there may be a few future firefighters among us! 🧑‍🚒

🚒 Lights, sirens, and lots of learning! 🧑‍🚒

Our Little Lion Kent St children were thrilled to welcome the NSW Fire Department Fire and Rescue NSW for a special fire safety incursion. There was so much excitement as the firefighters shared their important knowledge and gave children a closer look at the incredible work they do to keep our community safe.

The children listened carefully and learned some valuable fire safety messages. Our little learners even practised crawling low to the ground, just like firefighters teach us to do during a fire emergency.

🔥 A big thank you to the firefighters for taking the time to visit our centre, answer the children’s many questions, and help make fire safety learning such a fun and memorable experience. We are so grateful for your service and for inspiring our children through hands-on learning.

Sometimes the best moments aren’t the ones we plan for. 📸

I was taking photos of some of the beautiful learning environments our educators had set up at Little Lion Burwood. There was a bee sensory invitation, a space exploring Aboriginal perspectives and stories, and a cosy outdoor reading corner ready for children to enjoy.

As I was taking photos, one little girl came up and asked me what I was doing.

“I’m taking pictures for the mums and dads to see,” I replied.

She smiled and immediately said, “Can you take one of me for my mummy?” before giving the camera her biggest “cheese!” 😄

Not long after, another child overheard us and said, “I want a picture for my mummy too!” before proudly posing with his bike.

A few seconds later, they were off running together, laughing and playing as if nothing had happened.

It’s a small moment, but it reminded us of something important. While families may not see every part of their child’s day, children are always thinking about them, talking about them, and carrying that connection with them wherever they go.

The learning environments are important, but it’s these little moments of love, belonging, and childhood that make our days so special. 💛

Colourful hands, curious minds, and endless possibilities 🌈✨

Sensory play is so much more than just messy fun. As children explore different textures, colours, materials, and tools, they are developing important skills that support their learning and development every day.

Through these engaging sensory experiences, children are building:
🌿 Fine motor skills and hand strength
🌿 Creativity and imagination
🌿 Problem-solving and critical thinking skills
🌿 Language and communication skills
🌿 Concentration and confidence
🌿 An understanding of cause and effect

Most importantly, sensory play encourages children to explore, experiment, and learn through their own discoveries. There is no right or wrong way to play, allowing every child to express themselves, take risks, and follow their curiosity.

We loved seeing our little learners fully immersed in these colourful, hands-on experiences and can’t wait to create even more opportunities for exploration and learning! 💛

Our preschoolers’ love for animals continues to grow! 🐶💛

After meeting some amazing reptiles at our Open Day last weekend, the children have been buzzing with excitement and curiosity about animals. To extend this interest, they recently took part in a creative dog-making experience.

After learning how to fold and shape a dog‘s head, the children eagerly added their own unique touches, giving each pup its own personality and style. Through this activity, the children explored creativity, problem-solving, fine motor skills, and self-expression while building on their interests and ideas.

Their adorable creations are now proudly displayed in our Home Corner, brightening the space and celebrating the children’s learning journey. We can‘t wait to see where their curiosity takes us next! 🌿✨

A decade of memories. A lifetime of impact.

Last Saturday, Little Lion Surry Hills welcomed families past, present and future to celebrate two very special milestones: our 10th Anniversary and the retirement of our beloved founder, Ms Vicki.

Ten years ago, Ms Vicki and her family set out with a vision to create more than just a childcare centre. They wanted to build a place where children feel safe, valued and loved, where families feel supported, and where genuine connections are formed. Over the past decade, that vision has become a reality, touching the lives of hundreds of children and families throughout the Surry Hills community.

One of the most emotional moments of the day was welcoming back the very first baby who attended the centre. Now almost 11 years old, he returned with his family to celebrate this milestone. Ms Vicki still remembers holding him when he was only a few months old. Seeing him walk through our doors again was a powerful reminder of the lasting bonds that are created during a child’s early years.

For ten years, Ms Vicki and her family have poured their hearts into this centre. Their dedication, passion and unwavering commitment have helped shape not only a childcare service, but a true community. The impact they have made can be seen in every child they have nurtured, every family they have supported and every educator they have inspired.

To Ms Vicki, thank you for the love, care and leadership you have given to generations of children and families. Your legacy will continue to live on in the countless lives you have touched.

To every family who joined us on the day, thank you. Your trust, support and friendship have made Little Lion Surry Hills what it is today.

As we celebrate this incredible chapter, we also look forward to the future, carrying with us the values, memories and sense of belonging that have defined our community for the past ten years.

Thank you for being part of the Little Lion family. 🧡💚

“Brush brush brush your teeth!” 🪥✨

Our Little Lion Kogarah children had so much fun during a special visit from the dentist this week! Through games, hands-on learning, and interactive experiences, the children explored how to take care of their teeth and learned the importance of healthy brushing habits 💛

The children also participated in dental check-ups, helping them become more familiar and confident with visiting the dentist in a positive and supportive environment 🌿

Learning through fun and real-life experiences is such an important part of early childhood education, and we loved seeing all the big smiles throughout the day 😄

What a beautiful day at our Little Lion North Epping Open Day 💛

A huge thank you to our hardworking team for setting everything up and giving up their Saturday to make the day so special for our families 🌿

Special thanks to our amazing chef, Ms. Min, for preparing the delicious desserts and sushi enjoyed by everyone 🍣🧁

We are so grateful to all the families who came along. It was such a pleasure meeting you, showing you around our centre, and sharing our learning environment with the local community.

We would also like to sincerely thank Charles, Deputy Mayor of Parramatta, for taking the time to visit, engage with our families and educators, and support our local community event.

✨ Don’t forget, families who enrol within 2 weeks of the Open Day can enjoy our special enrolment offer!

Thank you again to everyone who made the day so memorable 💛
