Our beliefs in advocating for children’s rights are expressed through our interactions with children.

Our interactions with children reflect our image of the child. When we give children the time, space and security to Be, we show them that we value their whole selves and their contributions. Some of the ways in which we advocate for children’s rights through interactions are: getting down to children’s eye level when speaking with them; asking with verbal and non-verbal cues before handling a young child; using positive, calm and supportive tones in language.

As part of the Crocs group's learning about mind and body, the children visited Lane Cove National Park to participate in a yoga session. The experience encouraged mindfulness, relaxation, and an awareness of the connection between physical movement and wellbeing.

🌟The wonderful volunteers from the Men’s Shed at Hunters Hill have created a beautiful new and updated mud kitchen for our 2 – 5year olds to enjoy. Built entirely from scratch, the mud kitchen showcases the time, skill, and dedication of the Men’s Shed members.

The team carefully constructed the kitchen and sealed the timber with oil to help protect and preserve it for years of imaginative outdoor play.

Thank you to the Men’s Shed at Hunters Hill for helping to enrich the play experiences of our children. 🌟

Last week, we partnered with The Nappy Collective and became an official donation location. You will find a collection box located in our foyer where you can donate any nappies that are no longer needed. Opened or partially used packets are welcome.

The Nappy Collective is Australia's only charity dedicated solely to providing nappies to families experiencing hardship. Donated nappies are distributed to families doing it tough through a nationwide network of more than 850 emergency relief and frontline services, including food relief organisations, family support services, and domestic violence programs.

By getting nappies to families through services they are already accessing, The Nappy Collective provides practical, immediate support when it is needed most.

Since 2013, The Nappy Collective has distributed more than 10 million nappies across Australia, helping to keep babies clean and healthy while supporting families in need.

Right now, 1 in 6 children in Australia are living in poverty, and for many families, nappies are simply unaffordable.

Nappies aren't optional, but for too many parents, they are out of reach. That's why The Nappy Collective was founded—to help ensure every child has access to clean nappies and the healthy start they deserve.

If you have any spare nappies at home, we encourage you to consider donating and helping support families in our community and across Australia.

✨ We’re excited to be participating in National Simultaneous Storytime 2026! ✨

On Wednesday 27 May at 12:00pm, children across Australia will read the same book at the same time as part of this wonderful national event celebrating reading and literacy.

This year’s story is Luna Roo by Adam Jackson, Adrian Lloyd and Jake A Minton. 🦘⚽

National Simultaneous Storytime, coordinated by the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA), aims to promote the value of reading and literacy using a quality Australian children’s book that explores age-appropriate themes and encourages a love of reading.

💚 A special thank you to Adam Jackson, one of the talented authors of Luna Roo and a valued member of our Rise Early Learning community. We are so proud to support your work and share your story with children across Australia!

Families can also follow along from home by watching the official reading here:

We can’t wait to share this special reading experience with our children and celebrate the joy of stories together! 📖💚

During group time, the children enjoyed exploring their photos and identifying themselves and their friends. This meaningful activity supported the development of self-recognition skills, built confidence, and encouraged social connections as the children engaged in conversations and shared smiles together. 🌟

🎾 TENNIS COURT FUN 🤩 #

Before the children arrive for the day, the educators set up the tennis court ready for the children to enjoy. At the tennis court, the children focused on munch and move which supports them in developing their gross motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and confidence while enjoying being active outdoors.

Munch and Move is an important program that encourages children to develop healthy eating habits and enjoy regular physical activity from a young age.
Through fun experiences such as active games, sports, movement activities, and healthy lifestyle discussions, children build confidence, coordination, teamwork, and an understanding of wellbeing.
Programs like Munch and Move help children develop lifelong healthy habits while supporting their physical, social, and emotional development in a fun and engaging way!

Our second last sensory session for this term was all about celebrating Mother’s Day 💐
We created a beautiful photo backdrop for mums and their little ones to enjoy together, especially for those celebrating their very first Mother’s Day. It was so lovely to see so many smiles, cuddles, and special memories captured throughout the session.
The children also explored a variety of Mother’s Day-inspired sensory experiences that encouraged creativity, connection, and meaningful interactions with their families.
Our final sensory session for this block will be held this Wednesday 20/5 with the exciting theme of 🐝 Bees 🐝 in celebration of National Bee Day!
If you have already registered, we can’t wait to see you there!
If you would still like to attend, please join the waitlist here: https://riseearlylearning.edu.au/epping-sensory/ or email us at 📧 [email protected] and we will contact you if any spots become available.
