MULTICULTURAL DAY- ABORIGINAL AND TORRES STRAIT ISLANDER STALL
Our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students proudly showcased their culture during our Multicultural Day celebrations. The students performed a wonderful traditional dance at the morning assembly and hosted an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander stall, where they cooked and sold kangaroo skewers, freshly made damper with honey, and offered body art using ochre. A special thank you to the amazing Kurranulla staff who assisted the students on the day!

🦟🩸🔬 BLOODSUCKERS-AUSTRALIAN MUSEUM
Our Year 12 Biology students recently visited the Bloodsuckers: Nature's Vampires exhibition at the Australian Museum as part of their study of infectious diseases. The exhibition explored the fascinating science behind some of nature's most notorious blood-feeding organisms, including mosquitoes, ticks, fleas and leeches.
Students investigated how these organisms act as vectors for disease, gaining valuable insights into pathogen transmission, disease prevention and the impact of infectious diseases on human populations.
Through a range of engaging and interactive exhibits—including a mosquito swarm simulator, microscopes and hands-on models—students explored the biology of bloodsuckers, learned how to minimise the risk of bites, and discovered the surprising role some of these creatures play in modern medicine.
The excursion provided an excellent opportunity to connect classroom learning with real-world applications of biology and public health, bringing our Infectious Disease unit to life in a memorable and engaging way.
