‘I Can Hear the Desert Calling’ 2025 , acrylic pigments on canvas, 125cm x 61cm, on show and for sale for $3,850 via QR code or mosmanartwalk.com
It’s easy to imagine the wonder of this magnificent artwork in controlled light in pride of place on an expansive living room wall.
“The desert calls to me - ochre sands and limitless skies. So I let wings unfurl and spread as I listen for that place with no words,” says the artist Tara Winona of this work.
“The colours of this owl are inspired by a visit to Kata Tjuṯa (formerly known as The Olgas, Northern Territory), sitting in the sands matching pigments to luminous light.”
Tara’s art is an invitation to connect. Celebrating a love affair with nature, she seeks beauty in simplicity, leaving space for the imagination. Tara is represented by galleries in the UK and has exhibited across Australia, UK and the Netherlands.

Classic case of great curation by Mosman Art Walk in collaboration with Mud Australia and its flagship Mosman store at 4/732 Military Road, Mosman 2088.
Mirra Whale ‘The Observer’ 2022, oil on linen, 94cm x 115cm, framed, on show and for sale for $7,800 Mosman store when Mosman Art Walk 2026, 19 February - 10 March, 2026.
Working with the artworks shortlisted by Fiona Ackerman, Artistic Director, Mosman Art Walk 2026, the curation and in-store liaison team of Ann King and Erica Beaton work with store managers to place and curate as many of the artworks shortlisted as possible.
One of many interesting aspects of Mosman Art Walk is the creative relationship building between Mosman Art Walk and store supporters. Choosing and placing the most suitable artwork for stores is exacting and exciting!
Optimising sales and marketing opportunities for artists, Mosman Art Walk and the stores is a challenging. There’s a lot at stake. The reputations of the stores, Mosman Art Walk and the artists must coalesce to impress and satisfy art lovers and buyers.
