Today, Variety – the Children’s Charity visited WPHS to present their Just Like You workshop to all of our Year 7 and 8 students.

The workshop focuses on building understanding, acceptance and inclusion of people living with disability.

Our students were a great audience, and it was particularly pleasing to hear several of our neurodiverse students say that they felt more seen after the presentation. They thanked the presenters for helping all of us better understand the experiences of others.

Thank you to Variety for a great session, and to Year 7 Adviser, Jo Vuu, for organising the event!

A fairly quiet week ahead at WPHS. Let's hope the rain holds off so we can get back out onto the rear field during breaks!

Yesterday our school community came together to acknowledge National Sorry Day. Our talented Music staff performed this year’s National Reconciliation Week song, and our Principal spoke about the importance of truth-telling, respect and reconciliation.
National Sorry Day reminds us of the ongoing impact of the Stolen Generations and the importance of building a future grounded in understanding, connection and respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures and histories.
Together, we all have a role to play in reconciliation.
