What a beautiful day at Penshurst Park for our annual Family Picnic in the Park. The sun was shining, the children were laughing, and our families and educators came together to play, connect and build the relationships that make Little Achievers feel like a true community. π
Days like this remind us just how much our parks matter - they're where friendships grow, where children explore, and where our community finds space to breathe. π³
π Stay tuned for the upcoming "Have your say" from Georges River Council, where our community will have the chance to share our hopes, needs and dreams for the future Pole Depot Park. This is our moment to speak up for the spaces that support our families every day.
Together, we can help shape a Park that reflects the heart of our community. β€οΈ

Last week highlighted the universal statement behind π It Takes a Community π
What an incredible week at LAK as we explored what it means to be part of a community and how we can all make a difference.
From thanking our local Penshurst businesses for their ongoing support, to learning lifesaving skills with Super Sue from the Royal Flying Doctor Service, the children were inspired by the people who help our community thrive every day.
We enjoyed a fantastic visit from Hurstville Fire Station, baked a special morning tea for the wonderful volunteers at Mortdale Menβs Shed, and welcomed Nikki from Project Penshurst, whose passion for our local community is truly inspiring.
Through hands-on experiences, meaningful conversations, and real-world learning opportunities, our children discovered that every role matters. Whether you're a firefighter, teacher, librarian, shop worker, volunteer, or neighbour, we all play an important part in making our community a great place to live.
π Together, we make our community stronger.

π³ Local Parks and our Council Update π³
Great news: Planning is Under Way!
With plenty more meetings to be done, we have met yet again with the Councilors to discuss the progress of our two local parks, St George Park and Pole Depot Park, today.
Today's meeting outlined that there are draft plans for upgrades and refurbishing of furniture.
There is always a step-by-step process with town planning and upgrades within the Community, but as we haven't checked in in a while, we wanted to share some good news and say that progress is being made and we are working closely with Nikki from Project Penshurst 2222 who is our driving force in making Penshurst a better place.
The Community will have the opportunity to have more say in a few weeks to come, so we will keep you updated on how you can support your local Community in fighting to make our local parks the best that they can be π

π¦ΈββοΈ Super Sue to the rescue! π
As part of Food Allergy Awareness Week, Sue, our Health and Community Liason Officer, visited the Einstein Room to teach us all about allergies and keeping our friends safe.
The children learned about allergens, why we should never share food, who our safe adults are, and what to do if someone feels unwell. We even practised making βfish lipsβ while learning about allergic reactions! ππ
Thank you, Super Sue, for such a fun and educational visit π
