One of the first things children tell their families at pick up is what Chef Steven made for lunch 👨🍳
Fresh meals, made from scratch, every single day. Steven is a genuine part of the Senses community and our children adore him.
Good food is part of how children thrive and we take that seriously. Every meal is nutritious, every dietary need is taken care of and every child sits down to something made with real thought and care.

Children are natural scientists.
From the moment they arrive in the world they are touching, tasting, listening and forming their own ideas about how everything works. That curiosity is not something we need to create at Senses. We just need to make space for it.
Our learning environments are designed to invite exploration, provoke questions and let children make meaning in their own way and in their own time. We think that is the most important thing we can do.

What if every morning your child walked through the door excited about what the day might bring?
At Senses, that is exactly what we aim for. Our Senses Ignite curriculum is built around sensory rich experiences that spark curiosity, build confidence and give children the foundations they need to thrive well beyond their early years.
From creative arts to nature play, from literacy to the kind of imaginative exploration that only early childhood allows, every day here is genuinely different.
We would love to show you around. Come and see what learning looks like at Senses.

We believe a love of reading starts early and we take that seriously at Senses 📚
Books are part of every day here — group stories, quiet reading corners, that moment when a child asks you to read it again for the fifth time. We live for it.

World Ocean Day 🌊
The ocean is one of the greatest classrooms there is. At Senses we are lucky enough to have it right on our doorstep and our children never stop being curious about it.
Teaching children to love and respect the natural world starts early. Days like today remind us why that matters so much.

Inspired by nature. For climate. For our future 🌿
That is the theme for World Environment Day 2026 and it could not feel more relevant right now as we watch our community garden come to life here at Senses.
The children watering, watching, waiting. Learning that things grow slowly and that the earth gives back when you care for it. That is the kind of learning that lasts a lifetime.
Happy World Environment Day from our little patch of green in Milsons Point 🌱

School readiness is not a checklist.
It is something children build gradually through everyday experiences, relationships and play. And it looks different for every child.
Some things that actually matter when starting school:
- Feeling safe in new environments
- Being able to communicate needs and ideas
- Managing emotions with support
- Showing curiosity and willingness to try
- Growing independence with everyday tasks like opening their lunchbox or washing their hands
None of these require a worksheet. They develop through connection, routine and the kind of rich play based learning that the early years are made for.

Welcome to winter, Senses families
There is something we really love about this time of year. Cosy layers, warm meals from our kitchen and the kind of quiet that only the cooler months bring.
June is here and we are ready for it.

This National Reconciliation Week (27 May to 3 June) we are proud to stand alongside the theme All In - a reminder that reconciliation is not a spectator sport. It calls on every one of us to show up, take action and commit wholeheartedly, not just this week, but every day.
At Senses ELC, learning about and celebrating the cultures, histories and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples is part of how we teach, connect and grow together as a community. We are committed to walking this path with our children and families with honesty, respect and genuine care.
Reconciliation will not happen by itself. We are all in.

This week Senses is proud to be All In for National Reconciliation Week 🟡
27 May to 3 June. This year's theme says it beautifully — reconciliation is not a spectator sport. It takes all of us.
On Wednesday 3 June we'll be wearing yellow to celebrate the strength, knowledge, culture and creativity of First Nations peoples. We'd love for our families to join us.
We also have a fundraising page open now with all proceeds going directly to supporting First Nations children and families.
