Who else celebrated Vegemite Day and Picnic Day? π§Ίπ¦πΊ
At NELC, we never miss an opportunity to turn everyday moments into meaningful learning experiences! From enjoying Vegemite on toast to sharing a picnic with friends and cuddly companions, children explored Australian culture, practised independence, and strengthened their social connections.
Sometimes, the simplest experiences create the most special memories. π

π Learning About Our Emotions π
Our toddlers have been exploring emotions through a variety of hands-on and engaging experiences. The children used emotional flash cards to identify different feelings, practised making emotion faces in the mirror, and created their very own stress balls to help support emotional regulation.
These experiences help children build emotional awareness, develop empathy, and learn positive ways to express and manage their feelings. It was wonderful to see the children confidently recognising different emotions and talking about how they feel.
By providing opportunities to explore emotions through play, we are supporting the development of important social and emotional skills that will benefit children throughout their lives. π
β€οΈπ€π Reconciliation Week at Naremburn ππ€β€οΈ
At Naremburn, we proudly respect, celebrate and honour Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures and histories. Throughout Reconciliation Week, children engaged in meaningful experiences through storytelling, music, dance, art and connection with nature, fostering a sense of respect, understanding and belonging.
These experiences encouraged children to learn about the importance of caring for one another, valuing diversity and recognising the rich cultural heritage of the worldβs oldest continuing cultures.
Together, we continue to nurture curious minds, respectful relationships and a commitment to building a more inclusive future for all. πΏβ¨

π Colour Sorting Fun in Junipers Room π
This week in Junipers Room, children explored colours through a fun and hands-on sorting experience using pom poms, scoops, and matching cups. π‘π΅π£
As children sorted and transferred the pom poms, they were developing important skills such as hand-eye coordination, concentration, problem-solving, and early colour recognition. Using scoops and spoons also supported the strengthening of fine motor muscles and control. β¨
By creating playful and engaging learning opportunities, we encourage children to explore, investigate, and build confidence through everyday experiences. π
