Looking After the People Who Care for Your Children
As the weather gets colder, we wanted to create a little space for our amazing educators to take a moment for themselves. This week, we set up a cosy staff corner filled with tea, coffee, hot chocolate, and a few sweet treats for our team to enjoy during their breaks.
Our educators spend their days nurturing, teaching, comforting, encouraging, and supporting the children in our care. Their kindness, dedication, and passion make our centre the warm and welcoming place it is. We believe that when we care for our team, they can continue to provide the best possible care and learning experiences for our children.
To our incredible educators – thank you for everything you do, every single day. We appreciate you more than words can say. 💚

Hey friends, Ronald McDonald House Greater Western Sydney has put out a call for items as their hospitality carts are running low. As always, we’ll be collecting donations here at our centre.
A small toy can make a big difference ❤️
Our Hospitality Carts are running low on individually packaged toys – the small surprises that bring comfort, distraction, and a moment of joy to the children. Already this year, our hospitality carts have handed out 7414 items, across our three locations; Nepean Hospital, Campbelltown Hospital and The Children’s Hospital at Westmead.
If you can help us continue this, we’d be so grateful. You can do so by:
🎁 Dropping donations to Ronald McDonald House Westmead
📧 Or email [email protected] to organise a drop-off
Please note, we can only accept NEW toys. We'd specifically love SMALL, individually packaged toys, suitable for a child in a Hospital bed, such as:
• Baby rattles
• Small lego packs or Microbricks
• Small plush toys
• Barbie dolls
• Action figures - like Batman, Spiderman, etc
• UNO card games
• Match box cars
• Small general toys for girls and boys
• Boredom buster activities for teenagers
• Small craft items
Thank you so much for helping bring a little light to the children when they need it most.

Colour Exploration in the Butterfly Room 🎨
Recently, our older Butterfly children explored the primary colours red, blue, and yellow through a fun and engaging painting experience!
Using toothbrushes as painting tools, the children strengthened their fine motor skills while experimenting with different painting techniques and textures. The children were paired together, encouraging teamwork, cooperation, and communication throughout the activity.
As they worked side by side, the children supported one another in putting on their aprons, shared materials, and engaged in meaningful conversations about colours, painting, and their creations. These small interactions helped build social skills, confidence, and friendships while fostering a love of learning.
EYLF Learning Outcomes:
• Outcome 1: Children have a strong sense of identity as they worked cooperatively with peers and developed confidence in their abilities.
• Outcome 4: Children are confident and involved learners as they explored colours, experimented with painting techniques, and used problem-solving skills.
NQS Links:
• QA1 – Educational Program and Practice: Children engaged in a meaningful learning experience that supported creativity, exploration, and skill development.
• QA5 – Relationships with Children: Positive interactions and peer collaboration supported children's social and emotional development.

Last week, our children joined others across the nation to take part in the 2026 National Simultaneous Storytime.
This year’s book was Luna Roo, which was a perfect fit for our kids who have just started their winter sport of soccer and are currently learning about Australian animals.
Since then, they’ve asked to hear the story almost every day—sometimes twice!
It’s been wonderful to see them transfer their knowledge and share their excitement, interests, and love for literacy with us.
