Our Year 8 German students recently enjoyed an excursion to Munich Brauhaus in the city, where they practised their German language skills by interacting with the hosts and waiting staff. Students also experienced German culture firsthand while enjoying a traditional Bavarian lunch. A fantastic day of language learning beyond the classroom!

On Monday 15th of June, Year 9 watched 'Poetry in Action's 'Words that Changed the World' to complement their study of the 'Constructing a Perspectives 'unit
The performance was entertaining, fast paced and educational, offering an insight into the power of words, and how they can be weaponised to convince an audience.
What begins as a shouting match becomes a masterclass in the power of speech throughout history. Using real speeches and a generous dose of humour, Words That Changed the World unpacks rhetorical techniques including logos, ethos, pathos, claptraps, euphemism, and propaganda.
It was pleasing to see students embrace the magic of live theatre as they're invited to think critically.

Year 12 Geography students recently attended a fieldwork excursion to Long Reef as part of their study of ecosystems and the Great Southern Reef. During the excursion, students collected primary data and investigated the ecological significance of the reef environment, examining factors such as functioning, biodiversity, human impacts and management strategies. The fieldwork provided valuable opportunities for students to apply geographical inquiry skills in a real-world setting while developing a deeper understanding of the Great Southern Reef as one of Australia's most important marine ecosystems. Here are some student snaps from the day.
