We’ve been a little behind on socials of late! Here are couple pics from a special codesign Anti-Racism project with Kogarah Highschool this year! We ran a 4 week program focusing on art as activism and co created this mural based on the poem by poet and ornithologist J Drew Lanham ‘Joy is the Justice we Give Ourselves’. We feel really privileged to work with young people who have such big hearts, imagination and optimism for the way we shape and contribute to community. Thank you Kogarah Highschool and Gymea Community Centre, can’t wait for the next project 💛

A few more pics of the Tillys wall in Leichhardt!! Such a pleasure to paint in the park and meet some of the local community who would bring us blueberry muffins and hot chocolates in the afternoons! It also felt really nice to remember the passion and energy that infused community during the World Cup while we chose a few of the 700 notes to the Tillys to be featured on the wall! Big Thanks to 💛💛💛💛

Coalescence celebrates community at Sydney Olympic Park. We asked what community means to you, what you love and want to see grow here at Sydney Olympic Park. Your answers and experiences have inspired Coalescence artwork - a flowing rainbow river of colours and patterns that represent our bright and bold vision.

Coalescence aims to inspire a path of togetherness, where we flow side by side and lift each other up with strength and happiness. We hope these bright activations infuse Jacaranda Square with an energy that encourages connection, open-minded conversation, play and positive interactions.

A Day in The Park celebrates the memories and moments of our community, the meals we have shared, family picnics, olympic achievements, walks around our beautiful natural surroundings. The vibrant colours speak to our joy, sense of belonging and our shared values of harmony, excellence, creativity and collaboration.

This mural was created in collaboration with the Sydney Olympic Park community who helped artists paint the mural in December 2020. It responds to the community feedback to bring more vibrancy, colour and creativity to the public places in Sydney Olympic Park.

The finished mural stretches over an epic 30m and involved 10days painting on site in the sunshine and occasionally under cover waiting out the July storms. When discussing ideas of belonging and community key symbols were identified by our group including the bee as the ultimate community carer ensuring flowers bloom and ecosystems flourish, the sunflower, magnolia, sun, moon and ocean connect us to place, and symbolise the resilience of women, and the growth we experience when we support one another !! Thank you St.Caths for the space to create, connect and envision !!! 💓💓💓💓
