๐ธ๐ข๐ฆ๐๐จ Taronga Zoo Incursion โ ES1 & Stage 1 ๐จ๐๐ฆ๐ข๐ธ
Last week, our ES1 and Stage 1 students were excited to welcome educators from Taronga Zoo for an engaging and interactive incursion linked to our Science Units about Living Things.
Students had the opportunity to meet a variety of amazing animals, including a frog, turtle, lizard and snake. They learned about each animalโs body covering, movement, diet, habitat, breathing, hydration and the special adaptations that help them survive in their environment.
One of the highlights of the day was being able to safely pat many of the animals and experience their different body coverings firsthand. Students were highly engaged, asking thoughtful questions and making connections to their classroom learning.
The session also encouraged students to think about how they can be wildlife warriors and take positive action to help protect native species and their habitats.
A huge thank you to Taronga Zoo for providing such a memorable and hands-on learning experience! ๐พ๐๐

Our Year 1/2 students have been busy learning about street addresses and how to correctly write it on an envelope as part of our Geography unit on Australian places. ๐ฎ
To put their new skills into practice, each student wrote a letter to themselvesโeither in French or in Englishโand today they had the exciting opportunity to post it! โ๏ธ
They are all eagerly awaiting the arrival of their very own special letter in the mail. What a wonderful way to connect learning with real-life experiences!
