Signs of a childhood well lived. 🌿
Mud, mess, joy, and connection.
Our bush block offers endless opportunities for imagination and adventure. The muddy clothes and happy faces that return are a beautiful reminder that meaningful learning often looks wonderfully messy.

Patch to Plate 🌿
A few photos of just some of the delicious school lunches we’ve been enjoying this term- thanks to our P&P team, Marissa and Sam.
At Fernbrook, we believe that sharing a meal is more than simply eating together.
Our Patch to Plate program creates space each day for connection, conversation and community, all while enjoying nourishing vegetarian meals. With vegan and gluten-free options available daily, there is always a place for everyone at the table.

Last week, our students gathered around the fire in recognition of National Reconciliation Week.
Following the sharing of the Dreaming story of Bunjil the Creator, students reflected on this year’s theme ‘All In’ by sharing stories and memories of their own.
We are tremendously grateful to be learning on the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung lands of the Kulin Nation. We acknowledge the traditional owners of the beautiful waterways and native bushland on which we learn and pay our respects to all First Nations people and elders past and present.

The seasons may change, but the opportunity to climb a tree never does- or at least it seems that way here at Fernbrook!
Tree climbing builds confidence, resilience, balance, and imagination- all while encouraging students to slow down, take risks, and connect with the world around them. 🍁🍃

Tiny worlds! 🌱🌎
As part of their science studies, our Year 7’s designed and built their own little ecosystems.
Using these models, our students will continue to study and analyse the biotic and abiotic factors that work together to support life, deepening their understanding of the delicate balance found within the natural world.

Our Fairy Wrens are in their element 💫
Exploring, creating, cutting, building and of course, getting wonderfully messy along the way.

Year 10 Formal and Graduation 🌿
Last Friday, we celebrated a milestone moment for our Year 10’s - a beautiful evening that was planned by two of our incredible students. From organising the venue and caterer to ensuring the hall was decorated- their teamwork and leadership skills ensured this special evening was a true success!
We shared a delicious dinner thoughtfully prepared by our friends at , listened to speeches that spoke of our student’s special qualities and achievements and reflected together on how far they have all come.
This moment is especially meaningful for us as these are our first Year 10’s to graduate, many of whom joined us way back when we were based in Cockatoo.
A heartfelt thank you to our dedicated teachers and the families who have supported, encouraged, and cheered these students on every step of the way.
Here’s to their hard work, their growth, and the exciting journeys ahead! 🌿
