Last night, MacKillop College proudly hosted a highly successful Careers and Senior Pathways Expo in the Tenison Woods Centre and the Moreno Performing Arts Centre.

With more than 30 universities, TAFEs, training organisations, employers, industry groups and our own Learning Areas represented, the Expo provided an outstanding opportunity for students and families to explore future pathways, engage directly with exhibitors, and connect with teachers and students currently undertaking VCE and VCE Vocational Major (VCE VM).

The College extends its sincere thanks to our dedicated educators for their significant work in coordinating such a valuable event for our community, with special acknowledgement to Vice Principal Ms Allan for her leadership and support in bringing the evening together.

Events such as this reflect our ongoing commitment to supporting every student in discovering and pursuing their future pathway with confidence.

Last Friday, 66 MacKillop students from Years 9–12 proudly represented the College at the Dante Alighieri Poetry Competition held at the University of Melbourne.

Students recited an Italian poem provided by the Association, demonstrating remarkable dedication and preparation. Although many were understandably nervous, they delivered their performances with confidence and enthusiasm.

Following the competition, students enjoyed a well-deserved lunch at Ms Frankie's, where they shared delicious focaccia and pasta.

We are incredibly proud to announce that 16 of our students have progressed to the finals on 14 July—the highest number of finalists MacKillop has achieved in over 40 years of participating in this prestigious competition.

We congratulate all of our participants on their hard work and commitment and wish our finalists every success as they move on to the next stage.

Auguri e in bocca al lupo!

🌱 Breaking Ground for the Future at Wyndham Vale 🌱

Today marked a significant milestone for MacKillop College as we officially celebrated the sod-turning ceremony for our new Early Learning Centre at the future Wyndham Vale campus.

We were honoured to be joined by distinguished guests including the Hon. Lizzie Blandthorn MP, Minister for Children, John Lister MP, Member for Werribee, Fr Albert Yogarajah, Parish Priest of St Andrew’s, and Heather Finlayson, Managing Director of MACSEYE, along with College representatives.

This exciting development will provide high-quality early childhood education for up to 99 children at a time, with the flexibility to support even more local families throughout the week. The centre will also include consulting rooms and dedicated space for out-of-school-hours care, creating a welcoming hub for young learners and their families.

We are grateful to the Victorian Government and Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools Early Years Education (MACSEYE) for their support through the Building Blocks Partnership, contributing up to $6.75 million towards this important project.

This is just the beginning — construction of the Primary and Secondary School campus will commence soon, with the Wyndham Vale campus set to open in Term 1, 2028.

📸 We look forward to sharing more as this exciting project takes shape.
