Documents from the Archives verify that the school was opened on Seventh July 1884 and that the first children were accepted on 8th July 1884.The school was named the Hurd Memorial School in memory of a Methodist Minister Henry Hurd who died in 1883. Since it's inception, many noted individuals have walked the hallowed halls of this acclaimed school: The Right Excellent Errol Barrow, National Hero

Hey everyone. Monday 21st March, 2022 is 'Rock your Socks' day. So students are allowed to wear their multi colour socks to school to celebrate World Down Syndrome Day and awareness.
