Speaker Spotlight: Joseph T. McGinn III, M.D., is a cardiothoracic surgeon specializing in adult cardiac surgery at Christine E. Lynn Heart & Vascular Institute, part of Baptist Health.
Before joining Baptist Health, Dr. McGinn
completed his cardiothoracic surgery fellowship
at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, in
Jackson, Mississippi. He earned his medical
degree from The Commonwealth Medical
College in Scranton, Pennsylvania, and
completed his general surgery residency at the Hofstra Northwell School of Medicine, in Hempstead, New York.
Dedicated to innovation, Dr. McGinn completed a postdoctoral research fellowship at the Feinstein Institute for Medical Research, in Manhasset,
New York, utilizing animal models to test novel treatments for excess inflammation in the context of sepsis and ischemia-reperfusion injury. He is
a frequent podium presenter at national surgical society meetings, and his work has been published in the Journal of Thoracic Disease, Surgery and
SHOCK.
He is a fellow of the American Association for Thoracic Surgery and a member of the American College of Surgeons and the American Medical
Association.

High level speakers at the CCS #39 in the Bahamas!
This year’s Caribbean Cardiac Society Conference on 22-25 July 2026 will feature knowledgeable speakers from the European Society of Cardiology, the American College of Cardiology, the Association of Black Cardiologists, and the Inter-American Society of Cardiology. These are just some of the high-level speakers on the CCS #39 ticket.
We invite physicians and other health care professionals involved in Cardiology to submit their abstracts. We want to see and hear the work you have been doing. We want findings on key areas of research and more. Submit for an opportunity to present your abstract or display your poster.
Young clinicians are invited to submit their abstracts or posters for the Prof. Charles Denbow Young Clinician Award. We look forward to hearing from our aspiring medical professionals, whether they be residents, junior doctors, or medical students, who want to present their work. The contribution of the up and coming physicians supports the development of cardiology, and we want to hear from you. Submit today.
