The new placement system is here! Instead of relying only on one final exam, students will now be assessed using a 50/50 approach:

✅ 50% from projects and continuous assessment
✅ 50% from tests completed during Classes 3 and 4

This means students will have more opportunities to demonstrate what they know over time, not just on one exam day.

📚 MODULE 1: FUNDAMENTALS OF SECONDARY LEVEL MATHEMATICS

Under the new CXC Mathematics syllabus, scheduled for first examination in May/June 2027, students pursuing the modular pathway will begin with Module 1.

This module focuses on building the foundational mathematical knowledge and skills needed for further study and includes:

✅ Number Theory & Computation
✅ Consumer Arithmetic
✅ Sets
✅ Measurement
✅ Algebra I
✅ Introduction to Graphs

Module 1 serves as the foundation of the programme and must be successfully completed before progressing to the subsequent modules.

As CXC transitions to a modular, stackable micro-credential approach, understanding the structure and content of each module will be essential for students, parents, and educators alike.

Did you know that under the new modular system, students MUST first complete Module 1 before moving on? ✅

After successfully completing Module 1, students will have options:

🔹 Complete Module 2 and Module 3 separately in future sittings,

OR

🔹 If confident and prepared, complete BOTH Module 2 and Module 3 together in a single sitting and examination.

This new approach is built around 🏆 Stackable Micro-Credentials, allowing students to demonstrate mastery step by step while providing greater flexibility in how they achieve their qualification.
