Confusing Pair of words in English:

*** Few vs. A Few:

1. Few = প্রায় কিছুই না (Negative)
→ Few people came to the event.

2. A Few = কিছু সংখ্যক (Positive)
→ A few friends helped me prepare.

*** Little vs. A Little:

1. Little = খুবই অল্প বা প্রায় নেই
→ He has little confidence.

2. A Little = কিছুটা আছে
→ She has a little experience.

***Much vs. Many:

1. Much = uncountable (water, time)
→ Not much information was available.

2. Many = countable (books, people)
→ Many students joined the class.

*** Say vs. Tell :

1. Say = বলা (no object)
→ She said it was urgent.

2. Tell = কাউকে কিছু বলা
→ He told me the truth.

*** Since vs. For:

1. Since = নির্দিষ্ট সময় থেকে
→ I’ve lived here since 2015.

2. For = কতদিন ধরে
→ I’ve worked for 3 years.

*** Borrow vs. Lend :

1. Borrow = ধার নেওয়া
→ Can I borrow your pen?

2. Lend = ধার দেওয়া
→ I’ll lend you my book.

*** Rise vs. Raise:

1. Rise = নিজে নিজে ওঠা
→ The sun rises in the east.

2. Raise = কিছু উঠানো (object লাগে)
→ They raised the flag.

*** Hear vs. Listen:

1. Hear = শোনা (automatically)
→ I heard a noise outside.

2. Listen = মনোযোগ দিয়ে শোনা
→ Listen to me carefully.

*** Bring vs. Take:

1. Bring = কারো দিকে আনা
→ Please bring the file here.

2. Take = কোথাও নিয়ে যাওয়া
→ Take this book to your room.

***Been vs. Gone:

1. Been = কোথাও গিয়ে ফিরে এসেছে
→ I have been to Cox’s Bazar.

2. Gone = গিয়ে এখনো ফেরেনি
→ He has gone to the market.

IELTS-এ এই ধরনের grammar mix-up ভুল করলে score কমে যেতে পারে।
