Pharma Fusion 2026 Held at UAP: A Grand Convergence of Academia and Industry Leaders The Pharma Science Club (PSC), Department of Pharmacy, University of Asia Pacific (UAP), successfully organized the inauguration of its flagship event “Pharma Fusion 2026” on May 17, 2026 (Sunday) at the UAP Campus, Green Road, Dhaka. The event brought together distinguished academicians, industry professionals, researchers, and students on a vibrant platform dedicated to pharmaceutical education, innovation, and academic collaboration. The program commenced at 10:00 AM with the arrival and seating of guests, followed by a recitation from the Holy Quran. The inaugural session began with a welcome speech by Prof. Dr. Zabun Nahar, Head, Department of Pharmacy, UAP, who emphasized the importance of student-led initiatives in promoting research culture and professional development among future pharmacists. Short addresses were also delivered by Prof. Dr. Jakir Ahmed Chowdhury, Chairman, Department of Pharmacy, University of Dhaka, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Shahriar, Dean, School of Pharmacy, UAP, Mr. K. M. Mozibul Hoque, Chairman, Board of Trustees (BOT), UAP, and Prof. Dr. Mohiuddin Ahmed Bhuiyan, Pro-Vice Chancellor and Acting Vice-Chancellor, UAP. The speakers appreciated the initiative and highlighted the growing importance of innovation, research, and academic engagement in the pharmaceutical sector. Dr. Samina Ahmed, Chairman, BCSIR, conveyed her warm wishes and congratulations to the organizers and participants of the event. The inaugural session continued with crest handover to the honorable guests, after which Prof. Dr. Mohiuddin Ahmed Bhuiyan, Pro-Vice Chancellor and Acting Vice-Chancellor, UAP, officially declared the grand opening of Pharma Fusion 2026. One of the major attractions of the event will be the Poster Exhibition, arranged at UAP Plaza, where students from different semesters will present innovative and research-oriented pharmaceutical posters. The exhibition is expected to create a lively academic atmosphere and encourage interaction among students, faculty members, judges, and guests through scientific discussion and idea exchange. The event will also feature several engaging segments including the MedMind Olympiad, Scientific Writing Competition, Educational Video Illustration, Brand Innovation Challenge, and On-spot games. These competitions are expected to showcase the analytical abilities, creativity, and academic enthusiasm of the participants. The Pharma Olympiad and selected competitive segments will be held in the university auditorium, creating an exciting and competitive environment for the participating teams. The Prize Giving Ceremony and Cultural Program will begin at 03:45 PM. The session will include speeches by Mr. Muhammad Mahbubul Haq, Secretary, Pharmacy Council of Bangladesh (PCB) and Mr. Mohammod Shafiqul Islam, AGM, Product Manager, Popular Pharmaceuticals PLC, along with other executive representatives of the company. Winners from different segments will be awarded during the ceremony, followed by a vote of thanks to be delivered by Mr. Md. Asaduzzaman, Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmacy, UAP. The event will conclude with a vibrant cultural performance celebrating student talent and participation. The event is proudly sponsored by Popular Pharmaceuticals PLC as the title sponsor, with Well Food as the food partner and Savoy as the ice cream partner. Media support is being provided by SA TV and Jamuna TV as media partners. Prothom Alo and The Daily Star have joined as print media partners, while Bangla Tribune and Daily Campus are serving as online media partners.
