It was celebration time for our intrepid treasure hunters as the Belfast Young Archaeologists' Club marked its 20th birthday!

Founded in 2006 by our experts Professor Eileen Murphy and Dr Naomi Carver from QUB - Archaeology at Queen's, the club gives 6-16 year olds the chance to take part in hands-on archaeology and to discover just how much fun it can be to learn about history.

The club is also an official QUB outreach programme, giving our students the opportunity to become Assistant Leaders and get the Future Leaders volunteering award.

Nicolas shares more about his work: “These are a collection of images taken during my 3 years at Falmouth university! I have taken the skills learned on the Marine and Natural History Photography course to seas around the world, often highlighting the fantastic marine life we have from nudibranchs in Cornwall to clownfish in Egypt!

But I have also produced work on exploring mental health, often highlighting the importance of the marine world and its positive impact on mindfulness. Some of these images are from my 3rd year project “In Light of It All” exploring a 6 yearjourney of developing stress induced tics and how the ocean has given me a space to breath and recover.”
