Introducing the Moderator of ACCDCE Session 2025–2026.

We are delighted to welcome our Moderator, Zubair Ahmed.

Zubair Ahmed, former President of Chittagong University Debating Society , has remained closely connected with the debating community over the years. As a debater, he represented his university at Australs 2013 and at the 2015 World Universities Debating Championship (Malaysia). He also served as an Independent Adjudicator at WUDC 2016. His experience, dedication, and continued involvement in debating continue to inspire students and debaters alike.

Introducing the Co-moderator of ACCDCE Session 2025–2026.

We are delighted to welcome our Co-Moderator, A.K.M. Sharif Ul Islam, who has long been a familiar and supportive presence within the club.

Known for his approachable nature and enthusiasm, he brings a sense of warmth and positivity that helps create a welcoming environment for students while remaining deeply committed to the club’s activities and growth.

Adamjee Cantonment College Debate Club English proudly participated in the 14th NDDC Invitationals; an English UADC format tournament organized by Notre Dame Debating Club from the 7th to 9th of May.

Representing the club as “ACC Leviathan”, Syed Arib Zarar, Zobia Juearia and Nazia Nawar Karim competed among 20 reputed teams from across the national debating circuit.

The team won 3 out of 5 preliminary rounds, secured the Top Break in the High School Category, and ultimately became the High School Champions of the tournament.

The tournament also brought notable individual achievements:

1) Nazia Nawar Karim : Debater of the Finals & 2nd Best High School Speaker

2) Zobia Juearia : 4th Best High School Speaker

Introducing our President , Nazia Nawar Karim.

Here’s what Ikram Shams has to say about her:

" What I’ve come to admire most about Nazia is how composed she is. Usually, when I look at high school debaters, I don’t expect this level of calmness or emotional steadiness, but she genuinely surprised me in that regard. She carries herself with a quiet sense of control that not many people her age manage to have.

Over time, I’ve also grown to respect her a lot more because of how cautiously and maturely she handles difficult situations. The way she has dealt with certain things recently made me even more certain that she truly deserves the title and responsibility she holds. There’s a sense of thoughtfulness in her decisions that reflects both character and maturity.

What stands out in her even more is her determination. Whenever she takes on a topic, she never settles for surface level understanding. There’s always this natural urge in her to dig deeper, understand things properly, and do justice to what she’s working on. And alongside that, there’s the way she naturally looks out for her juniors. It never feels performative, it’s simply part of who she is. That balance of responsibility, care, and sincerity says a lot about her character.

She may not always be the loudest person in the room, but that has never defined her value. In fact, I think it’s the opposite. From what I’ve seen, she has all the qualities of someone people will genuinely look up to one day, not just as a debater, but as a person.

I just hope she realizes this herself too. She’s doing far better than she gives herself credit for, and she truly deserves to keep her head high.

And honestly, I hope that whatever stresses life throws at her, she learns to handle them the same way she handles everything else, calmly, thoughtfully, and maybe with a cup of coffee with a little bit of lime in it."

Introducing our Vice President Debate and Workshop Zobia Juearia, here’s what Shakila Nahar and Ikram Shams from BUPDC has to say about her

" You don’t always notice the moment someone raises the standard in a room but with Zobia, you are bound to.

When I first met Zobia, she was presenting her argument on the Just War principle. It’s a widely used framework, but the finesse with which she delivered her case not only secured the round for her team, it also earned the admiration of the entire judging panel, mine included.

Zobia is not just an exceptional debater, she is an inspiration to those around her. Her sharp, no-nonsense arguments are balanced by a naturally warm and approachable demeanor. She carries a rare combination of confidence and empathy, paired with a genuinely bubbly personality that makes it easy for peers and new learners alike to trust and connect with her.

ACCDC could not have chosen a more capable Vice President to lead its Debate and Workshop segment. I have no doubt that her tenure will not only raise the bar but set a standard others will look up to for years to come."

" Zobia, at first instinct, comes across as spontaneous in a way I initially misjudged. But the more I’ve observed her, the more I’ve realized she’s someone who plans things carefully and executes them so effortlessly that they look impulsive. I think that’s one of her best qualities.

She becomes incredibly serious when given a task, asks the right questions, improvises where needed, and handles things with a kind of confidence that makes you trust her with responsibility almost instantly.

Zobia also has one of those rare origin stories that already feels meaningful halfway through, and I’m genuinely sure she’s going to ace the final act of it.

And since Arsenal F.C. are in the UEFA Champions League Final, even though I’m a Manchester City F.C. fan, I hope both Arsenal and Zobia absolutely kill it."

Introducing our General Secretary, Muhammad Aadiyaat Aleef.

Here’s what Nafis Ahmed has to say about him -

“ People often say that once the “common ground” disappears, so does the friendship,that you go from being close to just someone you used to know.

But with Aadiyaat, it’s been the complete opposite.

We started off in the same organisation, spent a year working together, and eventually both moved on. But instead of fading, the friendship only grew stronger. There was no shared space holding it together anymore ,just two people choosing to keep tabs on each other.

One moment that will stay with me forever was when he showed up at at MAMUN IV. My event as the Vice-President of the club. It wasn’t just that he came ,it was seeing him and his institution win Best Delegation. Handing him that award… that’s not something I can easily put into words. It was one of those moments where you just stand there and realise, yeah, this was always meant to happen.

Because truth is, none of this surprises me.
Aadiyaat has always been someone who finds his way,whether things are in his favour or not. Everyone should have someone like that,someone you can talk to about anything, from serious conversations to the most random thoughts, without it ever feeling forced.

I am genuinely glad I met you in 2023.

Introducing our Organizing Secretary, Nawazes Ali Khan.

Here’s what Tamim has to say about him:

Some college friendships are meant to last, and I have been fortunate to find a few such friends in college. Among them, only a small number are people with whom I can share the bench both on and off a debate round, and of course, Nawazes Ali Khanshaheb is one of my favorite teammates of all time.

I have seen his integrity, his sense of teamwork, and his commitment to growing together through every opportunity we have shared. I truly admire how effortlessly he handles administrative responsibilities, something I often envy. With me, he has always been punctual and a man of his word. Warm greetings, a fresh smile, and the mind of a supercomputer, he carries every pressure placed upon him with remarkable ease.

Debating with you is genuinely fun, because you are the only teammate with whom I feel there is a 100% chance of winning. From your organizing abilities to your talent for making people laugh in the middle of complex and intense moments, something far from everyone’s cup of tea, you seem to know the formula for it all.

I believe in every universe, Tamim will believe in Nawazes, and Nawazes believe in Tamim.That is a canon event of this world. Because I know, he is a man of culture and I believe whatever duty is placed upon him, he will do that without a question

Introducing our Joint secretary, Sara Tasnim.

Here’s what Zobia has to say about her:

"During intercant 2024, a girl from the bangla team with the cutest pigtails came and asked me if i had seen a missing notebook. i didn’t know then, but she’d soon become one of the debaters i admire the most from ACC. other than sara’s kind and cool headed nature, she knows when to stand up for what is right. she doesn’t take any BS, and talking to her is ALWAYS a fun time! of-course, she dominates the sport she’s in but teaming up with her in NDDC showed me not only how good of a debater she is but also how pleasant she is to be around. she’s almost as sweet as the savoy ice cream cake we tried at our first tourney teaming up. sara is a calm natured person, who is so supportive and so so kind. but if you ever undermine her because of it, you would be proven wrong so fast. her supportive nature has personally helped me grow so much, always being there for those she cares about. sara just GETS it. i’m lucky to call her a friend, my GOAT and we’re all incredibly blessed to have her in our panel. i know for a fact with her expertise, there isn’t any obstacle we would be able to tackle."
