গতকাল আমাদের কম্পিউটার সায়েন্স এন্ড ইঞ্জিনিয়ারিং (CSE) বিভাগের উদ্যোগে “CSE Day” অনুষ্ঠানটি সকাল থেকে রাত পর্যন্ত অনুষ্ঠিত হয়েছে, যেখানে বিভিন্ন সাংস্কৃতিক অনুষ্ঠান ও কনসার্ট আয়োজন করা হয়েছিলো।

কিন্তু অত্যন্ত দুঃখের সাথে বলতে হচ্ছে, একই দিনে মাইলস্টোনে ভয়াবহ বিমান দুর্ঘটনায় অনেক নিরীহ শিশু প্রাণ হারিয়েছে , যা সমগ্র জাতির জন্য এক অপূরণীয় শোকের ঘটনা। আমরা সন্ধ্যায় এই দুর্ঘটনার খবর পাই, তবে শুরুতে পুরো বিষয়টি বিস্তারিতভাবে জানা সম্ভব হয়নি। অনুষ্ঠান নিয়ে সকলে ব্যস্ত থাকায় অনলাইনেও সময়মতো নজর দেওয়া হয়নি। পরে আমরা ঘটনাটি স্পষ্টভাবে জানতে পারি, তখন রক্তদানের অনুরোধও করা হয়েছিল। তবে সিদ্ধান্তহীনতা আর পরিস্থিতি মূল্যায়নের অভাবে অবিলম্বে অনুষ্ঠান বন্ধ করা সম্ভব হয় নি এবং শেষ পর্যন্ত প্রায় রাত হয়ে যায়।

আমরা নির্দ্বিধায় স্বীকার করছি — এটি আমাদের বড় একটি ভুল। এর কোনো ব্যাখ্যা বা অজুহাত আমাদের এই ব্যর্থতাকে কমিয়ে দেয় না। শোকাবহ এই সময়ে অনুষ্ঠান চালিয়ে যাওয়া উচিত ছিল না — এ বিষয়ে আমরা সম্পূর্ণ দায় স্বীকার করছি। আমাদের এই অনিচ্ছাকৃত ভুলের কারণে যারা কষ্ট পেয়েছেন, আহত হয়েছেন বা ক্ষুব্ধ হয়েছেন — তাদের সকলের কাছে আমরা বিনীতভাবে ক্ষমা প্রার্থনা করছি।

আমরা শোকাহত পরিবারগুলোর প্রতি গভীর সমবেদনা জানাই। আমাদের আচরণে যে ব্যথা ও হতাশা সৃষ্টি হয়েছে, আমরা তা আন্তরিকভাবে অনুধাবন করছি এবং ভবিষ্যতে আরও দায়িত্বশীল, সংবেদনশীল থাকার অঙ্গীকার করছি।
