His valuable initiative and encouragement motivated our students to reveal their talents and passion for the nursing and midwifery profession.

১২ই মে আন্তর্জাতিক নার্সেস দিবস উপলক্ষে সীমান্তিক নার্সিং ইনস্টিটিউট-এর শিক্ষার্থীরা একটি প্রশংসনীয় উদ্যোগ গ্রহণ করে। তারা সীমান্তিক পরিচালিত স্কুলের প্রায় ৫০ জন শিক্ষার্থীর স্বাস্থ্য পরীক্ষা সম্পন্ন করে, যার মধ্যে ছিল উচ্চতা, ওজন এবং বিএমআই (BMI) নির্ণয়।
পরবর্তীতে শিক্ষার্থীদের স্বাস্থ্যগত অবস্থা সম্পর্কে বিস্তারিত তথ্য সংশ্লিষ্ট শিক্ষকদের অবহিত করা হয়, যাতে তারা ভবিষ্যতে শিশুদের সঠিক যত্ন নিতে পারেন।
এছাড়াও, কোমলমতি শিক্ষার্থীদের বাহিরের অস্বাস্থ্যকর খাবার পরিহার করতে উৎসাহিত করা হয় এবং পুষ্টিকর খাবার গ্রহণের গুরুত্ব বোঝানো হয়। শিক্ষার্থীদের শিক্ষকদের প্রতি শ্রদ্ধাশীল হওয়া এবং উনাদের পরামর্শ মেনে চলার জন্যও উদ্বুদ্ধ করা হয়।
এই কার্যক্রমের এর মূল লক্ষ্য শিক্ষার্থীদের মধ্যে স্বাস্থ্য সচেতনতা বৃদ্ধি করা এবং নার্সিং শিক্ষার্থীদের মানবিক দায়িত্ববোধ ও পেশাগত দক্ষতা বাড়ানো।

During their visit, the guests explored the classrooms, skills lab, library, and the entire Department of Nursing and Midwifery. They interacted with students, faculty members, and the management team.

The visitors expressed high appreciation for the institute, particularly highlighting its cleanliness. They also noted that the classrooms and laboratories are well-organized and aesthetically arranged, creating a highly conducive learning environment.

সিলেট শহরের প্রাণকেন্দ্র উপশহর পয়েন্ট এ অবস্থিত সীমান্তিক নার্সিং ইনস্টিটিউট, সিলেট এ ডিপ্লোমা ইন নার্সিং সায়েন্স এন্ড মিডওয়াইফারি এবং ডিপ্লোমা ইন মিডওয়াইফারি কোর্সের ২০২৫–২০২৬ সেশনের নবাগত শিক্ষার্থীদের ওরিয়েন্টেশন অনুষ্ঠান সাফল্যের সঙ্গে অনুষ্ঠিত হয়েছে। অনুষ্ঠানে নবাগত শিক্ষার্থী, অভিভাবকবৃন্দ, শিক্ষক-শিক্ষিকা, অধ্যক্ষ এবং সীমান্তিকের সিনিয়র ম্যানেজার সহ সকল কর্মকর্তাবৃন্দ উপস্থিত ছিলেন।

অনুষ্ঠানের শুরুতেই প্রবীণ শিক্ষার্থীরা নবীনদের ফুল ও স্বাগত কার্ড প্রদান করে আন্তরিকভাবে বরণ করে নেয়। অভিভাবকদের জন্য একটি তথ্যবহুল ও আকর্ষণীয় প্রেজেন্টেশন উপস্থাপন করা হয়, যেখানে শিক্ষার্থীদের পাঠদান পদ্ধতি, একাডেমিক কার্যক্রম এবং তাদেরকে সময়োপযোগী ও দক্ষ হিসেবে গড়ে তোলার বিভিন্ন দিক তুলে ধরা হয়।

এ সময় অভিভাবকবৃন্দ তাঁদের মূল্যবান মতামত প্রদান করেন এবং নবাগত শিক্ষার্থীরাও নিজেদের অনুভূতি প্রকাশ করে। সার্বিকভাবে অনুষ্ঠানটি ছিল সুসংগঠিত, প্রাণবন্ত এবং অত্যন্ত সাবলীল।

Midwives are essential to saving lives, improving maternal and newborn health, and ensuring every woman receives respectful, skilled care. Yet, there is still a critical shortage across the globe.

Investing in midwives means investing in safer births, healthier families, and stronger communities. It’s time to recognize their value and take action to support and grow the midwifery workforce.

Today, we stand in support of midwives everywhere—and the urgent need for one million more.
