Whether you are someone wishing to obtain an academic qualification that will open the gate to a secure professional career or whether you are someone already established in a career or vocation, you will find the planned Institute of POLICY SCIENCE a Companion unlike any other.

I created the Institute in my head in 1992; that is to say, 2 years after I discovered POLICY SCIENCE.The Institute of Policy Science shall be solely responsible for the award of Bachelor of Policy Science degree in a wide range of disciplines. It shall also be responsible for the Degrees of Master of Policy Science [M.PolicySc] and Doctor of Policy Science [Dr.PolicySc].

The Institute aims to offer courses in some 80 areas of human activities, at degree level, certificate level and diploma level. These are mainly taught courses.

The degrees of Master of Policy Science [M.PolicySc] and Doctor of Policy Science [Dr.PolicySc] shall be by dissertation under supervision.

A Bachelor of Policy Science degree course shall span over 3 academic years [9 terms], with the exception of Architecture, which shall span over 4 academic years.

Each degree will be linked to a vocation or profession. The degree of Master of Policy Science will be by dissertation and 75-000-word thesis must be submitted 24 months following enrollment.

The degree of Doctor of Policy Science will also be by dissertation under supervision and 150-000-word thesis must be submitted 42 months into the course.

On graduation from the Institute all graduates shall be invited to take part in a-6-month training in the field of study in which he / she graduated.

The 6-month training programme shall be under the management of the Centre for Community Studies. The Centre for Community Studies [CCS] is an Education Management Institution that I founded in London in March 1983.

WHAT THEN IS POLICY SCIENCE?

POLICY SCIENCE is a post-Colonial Literature and Literary Study. But it did not come out of Africa; it came out of good old England, in 1990. Initially I defined it as the

"method of formulating, interpreting and implementing policies under various bureaucratic procedures".

That definition was grounded upon a methodology which I titled

"Synectics-Lateral Rule of Reflex Response" (SLRRR).

It has since been modified and it now reads

JOHN SALAKO SYSTEM ANALYTICAL RULE OF REFLEX RESPONSE (JSARRR- pronounced "Jayser").

Nonetheless, the original definition still holds. As an academic discipline POLICY SCIENCE is the overview of the “HUMANITIES”.
