We are proud to celebrate the success of the RCSI International Education Forum, which brought together colleagues from our campuses in Dublin, Bahrain, Malaysia and China.

The Forum provided a valuable platform for collaboration, knowledge exchange and innovation in health professions education across our global RCSI community.

Professor Sameer Otoom, President of RCSI Bahrain, chaired a session on aligning health professions education with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and shared our latest University developments in education, research and community service at a Town Hall meeting.

We are delighted to announce that Professor Sameer Otoom, President of RCSI Medical University of Bahrain, and Dr Mohamed Ameen AlSaati, CEO of Amana Healthcare Bahrain, developed as part of the M42 portfolio of healthcare providers in partnership with Mumtalakat, signed a Memorandum of Understanding to advance clinical education and strengthen the Kingdom's specialist healthcare workforce.

Through this collaboration, students and staff will gain access to various academic engagement and specialised clinical practice in long-term care and post-acute rehabilitation, as well as joint research initiatives aligned with national priorities.

By broadening exposure to diverse healthcare settings, the University will further enhance the preparedness of graduates for a wide range of professional pathways while contributing to the continued development and resilience of Bahrain’s healthcare sector.

During a recent senior management visit to Egypt, members of our leadership team reconnected with Dr Amr Khafagy (Class of 2020), an Orthopaedic Surgery Resident at Souad Kafafi University Hospital.

Dr Khafagy was highly praised by hospital supervisors for his professionalism and clinical excellence.

Reflecting on the visit, he shared: "I am proud to be an RCSI Bahrain graduate and grateful for the strong foundation the university gave me in clinical excellence, professionalism, and patient-centred care.”

RCSI Medical University of Bahrain and the Ministry of Education have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen cooperation in preparing students for medical and healthcare studies.

The agreement was signed in the presence of His Excellency Dr Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Higher Education Council, Professor Michael Kerin, President of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) in Dublin and Professor Sameer Otoom, President of RCSI Bahrain. The memorandum was signed by Ms Suha Saleh Hamada, Director General of Schools Affairs at the Ministry of Education and Professor Cathal Kelly, Vice Chancellor of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) in Dublin.

This partnership aims to support secondary school students in pursuing future careers in the health and medical fields through workshops, orientation sessions, and hands-on learning opportunities.

Congratulations to the 117 graduates from the undergraduate and postgraduate nursing programmes who were celebrated today at the School of Nursing and Midwifery Conferring Ceremony!

During the event, Nurse Noora Alrowaiei addressed fellow graduates on behalf of the nursing cohort, expressing appreciation for the support received throughout their studies and reaffirming the humanitarian role of the nursing profession in serving society.

We are proud of our nurses’ dedication and wish them every success as they begin their healthcare careers.

Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) – Medical University of Bahrain held today its 17th Annual Conferring Ceremony in the esteemed presence of His Excellency Lieutenant General Dr Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Health, and His Excellency Dr Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Higher Education Council, at the Gulf Convention Centre.

The ceremony was attended by senior Bahraini officials, dignitaries and distinguished guests, alongside senior RCSI officials, including Professor Michael Kerin, President of RCSI Dublin, Professor Sameer Otoom, President of RCSI Medical University of Bahrain and Professor Cathal Kelly, Vice Chancellor and Chief Executive Officer of RCSI Dublin.

The School of Medicine Valedictorian, Dr Aiman Khudair, delivered an address reflecting on the achievements, resilience and shared experiences of the graduating class.

Congratulations to the 168 medical graduates who were celebrated today. We wish them success in their future careers.
