IB English and Psychology teacher at Somersfield Academy, Allie Zuckerman, has been awarded the Golden Inkwell for Famous for 15 Minutes (FFM), the Bermuda Musical and Dramatic Society (BMDS) Charitable Trust’s annual playwriting competition.

FFM, established in 2001 by Kelvin Hastings-Smith, Phillip Jones, and playwright Tom Coash, has become a leading platform for new writing in Bermuda. Each year, six anonymised scripts are selected by an international panel of theatre professionals and performed at BMDS Daylesford, with a guest judge selecting the winning play.

Now in its 20th anniversary year, the competition continues to highlight outstanding local and international talent. Somersfield Academy congratulates Ms Zuckerman on this recognition of her creative work beyond the classroom.

A sweet surprise for Miss Phipps! P5 Phipps celebrated with a surprise goodbye ice cream party! A big thank you to Sancha (Maddox’s mum) for generously providing ice cream from Scoops and helping make the send-off so special. There were lots of smiles, happy memories, and plenty of ice cream as everyone came together to wish Miss Phipps all the best for what’s next. Thank you, Sancha, for helping make the celebration so memorable!
