Time for a noun!

gully (noun)
It is a landform created by the erosion of soil and rock, typically by water runoff. It is characterized by a small, narrow valley or channel that has been carved out by the action of running water. Gullies often form on hillsides and can grow in size and depth over time, potentially leading to significant changes in the landscape. They are commonly found in areas with loose or easily eroded soils and can be a sign of poor land management or environmental degradation.

What’s the difference between a gourmand and gourmet?

The words gourmand and gourmet are closely related, but they describe different things.

A gourmet is someone with a refined appreciation for fine food and drink. The emphasis is on discernment, knowledge, and good taste. Example: He’s a true gourmet who can distinguish subtle differences between French wines.

A gourmand is someone who greatly enjoys eating, often in large quantities. Traditionally, the word could imply gluttony, though today it is often used more positively to mean a passionate lover of food: The gourmand sampled every dessert on the menu.
