1. Language Learning, 2. Brazilian Culture & 3. Cultural Immersion 🇧🇷
We partnered with universities , , and to welcome around 20 students from different academic backgrounds.
Together, they took part in a program that combines language learning, cultural exploration, and meaningful cultural exchange.
1. Language Learning 📚:
They participated in an intensive week of Portuguese group classes, learning through music, games, conversations, and interactive activities.
2. Brazilian Culture 🇧🇷:
They explored some of Rio de Janeiro’s most iconic landmarks and neighborhoods, including Christ the Redeemer, Pedra Bonita, Lapa, Ilha da Gigóia, Vidigal, and the city’s Historic Center.
3. Cultural Immersion 🤝:
To get closer to Brazilian culture and practice their Portuguese in real-life situations, students took samba and capoeira classes, and enjoyed a traditional Brazilian lunch with “quentinhas”.
They also visited Shanti Brasil, an NGO dedicated to promoting a Culture of Peace, Nonviolence, and Sustainability. In addition they went to a community project during Favela Tour , which is a coworking space, creative studio, and handicraft shop.
“Obrigado” to all the students and partner universities for trusting Caminhos and being part of this unforgettable experience 💜.

World Environment Day 🌳🌿
Interesting fact: On World Environment Day 2024, Christ the Redeemer was illuminated in honor of the Copa da Floresta.
The Copa da Floresta is an amateur football tournament held across the Amazon region that celebrates Indigenous peoples, riverside communities and remote towns. It helps bring visibility to the people who live in and help preserve the world's largest rainforest.
The Copa da Floresta is still held today and continues to bring together communities from across the Amazon through football.
