Small acts of kindness can make a big difference.

Inspired by the children they met during a visit to INCA’s pediatric unit, students from the SOS Clubs at both EARJ campuses came together to support young patients through two meaningful initiatives.

In Barra, students organized a World Cup album and sticker drive, collecting 28 albums, 100 sticker packs, and hundreds of individual stickers to donate.

In Gávea, students launched a raffle featuring two Brazilian National Team jerseys signed by the men’s and women’s teams, raising more than R$4,000 for the pediatric unit.

We are proud of our students for turning empathy into action and finding creative ways to bring joy and support to others.

The High School Awards Ceremonies recognize students whose contributions have made a meaningful impact across our community.

Throughout the event, students were honored for excellence in academics, athletics, the arts, leadership, and service. The ceremony also celebrated recipients of some of EARJ’s most distinguished recognitions, including the President’s Award for Educational Excellence, and the EARJ Principal’s Award.

More than a sticker swap 💙

Across our campuses, students gather to trade World Cup stickers, complete collections, and share the excitement of each new find. A tradition that transcends age, gender, and generations.

But beyond the fun, these moments help develop important life skills such as communication, negotiation, organization, problem-solving, decision-making, and collaboration.

Sometimes, meaningful learning happens in the simplest interactions.

We are proud to celebrate Sofia Romano (Class of 2027), whose project, Theater Without Borders, is bringing together EARJ students and young artists from Rocinha through the power of theater.

Recently featured in multiple news outlets, the initiative creates opportunities for learning, collaboration, and cultural exchange while using the arts to connect different communities. Led by theater director Daniel Herz, the program brings students together to explore performance, creativity, and shared experiences.

Congratulations, Sofia, on transforming an idea into a meaningful project that is already making an impact beyond our campus.

From the classroom to the headlines.

We are proud to see Mister Pi (.ia) — an initiative created by Escola Americana do Rio de Janeiro students Felipe K. and Felipe G. — receiving recent recognition in both RJTV and Brazil Journal.

What began as a way to expand the impact of a volunteer project has become an innovative educational tool powered by AI. Through WhatsApp, Mister Pi helps students solve math questions, practice logical reasoning, and access academic support in a simple and accessible way.

The project was inspired by a long-standing EARJ initiative: every week, our Gávea High School students volunteer their time to provide Math tutoring for students from Rocinha, creating meaningful learning opportunities and building connections through education. Mister Pi was developed to amplify that impact and reach even more learners.

Congratulations to Felipe K, Felipe G. and the entire team behind this inspiring project. We look forward to seeing the difference Mister Pi will continue to make in Brazil and beyond.

Our Barra Campus was filled with energy as we celebrated a major milestone and officially welcomed our rising seniors, the Class of 2027! The school kicked off the special day by treating the new seniors to a delicious breakfast before the real excitement began.

The Class of 2027 officially made their mark by spray painting the mural of their future senior lounge, but the fun didn’t stop there. The celebration quickly transformed into a vibrant, high energy color festival, with students showering each other in colorful paint powder to mark the start of their journey.
