The University of the West Indies (UWI) Global Campus, The Bahamas was honoured to pay a courtesy call on the Deputy Prime Minister and newly appointed Minister of Education, The Hon. I. Chester Cooper, to congratulate him on his new portfolio and discuss opportunities for continued collaboration in advancing education throughout The Bahamas.
The meeting was attended by the Ministry's senior leadership, including the Permanent Secretary, the Director of Education, and the Deputy Director of Research and Development. Representing UWI were Mrs. Bridgette Cooper, Head of Site, UWI Global Campus, The Bahamas, accompanied by the Senior Administrative Assistant, Programme Officer, and Programme Assistant.
During the meeting, Mrs. Cooper highlighted the wide range of academic programmes, professional development opportunities, and community initiatives offered by UWI, emphasizing the University's commitment to empowering learners across The Bahamas. She also expressed UWI's desire to strengthen its partnership with the Ministry of Education to expand access to quality education, lifelong learning, and workforce development.
The discussions were both productive and encouraging, reflecting a shared vision for educational excellence and national development. UWI Global Campus looks forward to working closely with the Ministry of Education to create meaningful opportunities that will benefit students, educators, and communities throughout the country.
