π Eagle Excellence: Channing Christie Shines in National Laws of Life Competition! π
The L.W. Young Junior High School family is bursting with pride as we celebrate the phenomenal achievement of one of our very own Golden Eagles, Channing Christie!
Channing stood out as a distinguished finalist in the prestigious Laws of Life Essay & Video Competition, ultimately securing an Honorable Mention in the highly competitive Junior Division. To put the magnitude of this achievement into perspective, Channing competed against roughly 1,500 students from across the entire Commonwealth of The Bahamas.
For his outstanding literary efforts, bravery, and determination, Channing was recognized at a beautiful awards ceremony where he was presented with an official certificate from the Templeton World Charity Foundation and the Ministry of Education, alongside a $150 cash prize.
Taking on a national stage requires incredible heart. Channing showed immense courage and an unwavering commitment to excellence, proving exactly what it means to soar like a Golden Eagle. His success stands as a powerful reminder of this year's winning mindset: "Never give up."
π€ A Community of Support
Great achievements are rarely accomplished alone, and we extend our deepest gratitude to the team that helped pave Channing's path to victory:
To Writing Coach, S. Taylor: Thank you for your tireless guidance, mentorship, and dedication to helping Channing refine his voice and bring his essay to life.
To Mr. and Mrs. Christie: Thank you for being undeniably supportive parents. Your constant encouragement and foundation of love made this milestone possible.
Way to go, Channing! You have represented L.W. Young Junior High with absolute class and distinction. Keep writing, keep inspiring, and keep soaring high!

*Discipline,* *dedication* and *determination* , are the three Ds the students displayed from October to May as they studied to become RBDF Cadets.
They persevered through the weather, hikes, learning to tie ropes, quizzes and test. They were consistent with meetings on Mondays and Saturdays and their hard work paid off. Congratulations to those who successfully completed their training.

Yesterday was another hot hottt one in The Eagle's Nest, after the electricity went off; teachers made adjustments and moved their classes outside. It was a beautiful sight and students appeared to be more comfortable and settled.
