Observed annually on June 2nd, Bhutan’s Social Forestry Day commemorates the coronation of His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo, who was crowned King on this day in 1972. Embracing this year’s theme, “Plant Together, Restore Forever, Secure Our Future,” our school joined the nation in a cleaning campaign as a humble gesture of gratitude and commitment to His Majesty’s visionary leadership in environmental conservation. Together, we reaffirm our responsibility to keep Bhutan green, clean, and sustainable for generations to come.

Our school joined the world in observing Menstrual Hygiene Day under the theme, “Together for a Period-Friendly World.” The day was meaningfully marked with a speech by the Health Captain, followed by an informative talk on the importance of menstruation, menstrual hygiene, and breaking the stigma surrounding periods.

The program also included a practical demonstration on the proper use of sanitary pads conducted by the Health Assistant from Dungna Basic Health Unit (BHU), which greatly helped students gain awareness and confidence regarding menstrual hygiene management.

The school administration would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to the Health Assistant for sharing valuable knowledge and guidance on menstrual hygiene. We would also like to sincerely thank Mrs. Mena Kumari, ECCD teacher of Drudingkha, for her generous contribution of sanitary pads to the school for the girls.

Together, let us continue to create a safe, supportive, and period-friendly environment for all.
