Samtengang Central School joyfully observed the International Day of Play under the theme "Right to Play: Protect Play, Protect Childhood." The celebration aimed to raise awareness about the importance of play in the holistic growth and well-being of children.

The program was observed during the morning assembly, where a speech highlighting the significance of the day and the vital role of play in children's physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development was delivered. Students also presented role plays depicting various traditional and modern games, emphasizing how play promotes teamwork, creativity, friendship, and healthy living.

To further create awareness, attractive banners and informative posters related to the theme were displayed around the assembly area, encouraging everyone to recognize and uphold every child's right to play.

As part of the celebration, a friendly volleyball match was organized after school between the students and the lady teachers. The match provided a fun-filled opportunity for interaction, teamwork, and sportsmanship, reflecting the true spirit of the day. The event was enjoyed by all participants and spectators, fostering a sense of unity and joy within the school community.

The celebration served as a meaningful reminder that play is not merely a recreational activity but a fundamental right that contributes significantly to the healthy development and happiness of every child.

Dear Parents/ Guardians,

This is to inform that the tremors of last night’s earthquake, lasting just under 20 seconds.
Nevertheless, all staff and students were safely evacuated and are now settled.
We are happy to report that everyone in the hostel and on campus are safe and sound.

Education is a dynamic and holistic process that extends far beyond the boundaries of textbooks, classrooms, and examinations. It encompasses the development of knowledge, skills, values, and competencies that enable learners to think critically, communicate effectively, collaborate meaningfully, and apply their understanding in real-life contexts. In the context of competency-based learning and experiential education, emphasis is placed on active engagement, hands-on learning, and student-centered pedagogical approaches.

In alignment with the Bhutan Baccalaureate Curriculum, the school organized the “108 Learning Experiences Showcase”, a structured academic platform designed to provide students with opportunities to demonstrate their learning achievements across various subjects throughout the academic term. The initiative aims to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application by encouraging learners to express their understanding through meaningful, creative, and performance-based activities.

The Learning Showcase engaged students from Classes VII to XII in a wide range of academic and creative activities, including presentations, demonstrations, experiments, simulations, research sharing, coding projects, role plays, and project-based learning tasks. This allowed learners to demonstrate not only their conceptual understanding but also their ability to apply knowledge in authentic and contextualized situations.

Furthermore, the event is envisioned as a student-centered academic celebration that promotes confidence, teamwork, leadership, problem-solving abilities, and reflective thinking. It fosters an inclusive learning environment where students actively construct knowledge, collaborate with peers, and communicate ideas effectively to an audience.

The program was also organized as part of the celebration of the 36th Birth Anniversary of Her Majesty The Gyaltsuen Jetsun Pema Wangchuck, adding deeper significance and inspiration to the academic showcase. This integration enriched the event by aligning academic learning with national values, respect, and gratitude towards Her Majesty’s noble contributions to education and youth development in Bhutan.

Samtengang Central School joyfully celebrated the 36th Birth Anniversary of Her Majesty The Gyaltsuen Jetsun Pema Wangchuck with deep respect and gratitude for Her Majesty’s compassion and unwavering service to the nation. The auspicious occasion was graced by the Ven. Lam of Lhakhang Thangka, Kuenzangling.

The program commenced with the singing of Her Majesty’s Zhabtoen (Long Life Prayer), invoking blessings for Her Majesty’s good health, long life, and continued service to the Tsawa-Sum.

The celebration featured a series of meaningful presentations and cultural performances highlighting the vital roles and contributions of the Queens of Bhutan in nation building. Students from various classes took part in both Dzongkha and English presentations:

Throughout the program, students also showcased exhibitions reflecting the roles and initiatives undertaken by the Queens of Bhutan in strengthening the nation’s social, cultural, and developmental fabric.

The event concluded with expressions of gratitude and a heartfelt Tashi Lebey, marking the successful and meaningful celebration of this auspicious occasion.
