Join us on the 13th of May for a day of fun and learning **aschool ‘s Fun Day . Make sure to visit our stall to view our telescope display ,learn and ask questions about all things astronomy and view our catalogue .

2 quizzes will also be held,participants will stand a chance to win STEM based prizes from our catalogue.Registration from 11 to 1pm. Quiz starts after Registration. Winners announced at 3:30. P20 entry fee.💫

Congratulations ✨once more to 5 year old Phoebe for daring to take a quiz amongst 8 ,9 and 10 year olds and securing 3rd place. Thank you for your courage keep it up and remember even the sky isn’t the limit !

To the under 16s you have second chance to redeem yourself ,just keep listening to Gabz FM’s little Einsteins show and keep an ear out for our quiz.There will be 2 prizes up for grabs .First place will win an AMAZING REACTIONS CHEMISTRY SET from the National Geographic Mega Science Series worth 1,140 p**a and second place takes home a FOLDING MICROSCOPE KIT worth 680 p**a from our catalogue.

Diamonds in the Sky made an appearance at the Gabz FM Easter Egg Hunt on 22nd of April, with fun and educational activities for the bunnies and prizes from our catalogue to be won.

DIAMONDS IN THE SKY UPCOMING EVENTS✨

Machana Event
Starting in June 2023, Diamonds in the Sky will be conducting a 4-day teacher training event to be held at the Kanye Education Centre, for 13 teachers from 10 different remote area primary schools, together with a student astronomy fun day to be hosted at Machana Primary School on the 5th and final day. This event will culminate in an evening of stargazing with our 14” SCT telescope at Machana Primary School for teachers, students and members of the local community.

National Science Week
Starting in August 2023, Diamonds in the Sky will be continuing with further teacher training and stargazing sessions at Letlhakeng, as part of the Annual National Science week event sponsored by the Department of Research, Science and Technology, and BIUST. The company participated in the 2022 event which was held in Masunga, after which Masunga Senior Secondary took position 2 in the BCGSA results just released, bettered only by St. Joseph’s school at Kgale.

Our mission as Diamonds in the Sky is to use our in-depth knowledge of astronomy and our specialized astronomical equipment as a tool to:
1) To help introduce astronomy to the tourism sector through demonstrations and trainings for professional guides, camp managers, and other hospitality sector staff members, empowering them to begin offering stargazing as a highlighted evening activity at camps and lodges across the country in a professional and entertaining manner.
2) To help impart a basic theoretical knowledge of astronomy to teachers at the primary and secondary level, preparing them for the introduction of astronomy into the school syllabus in the near future, and to teach them some practical skills using a small telescope enabling them to conduct outdoor stargazing sessions of their own, at their own schools with their own students, and using their own basic astronomical telescopes that we can provide.
