Oh baby, we've got a birthday to celebrate! Our male Canada lynx 'Bebe' is turning 13 today! 🎉
Have you ever wondered what's the difference between a lynx and a bobcat? 🤔 One clue is in the tail! 👀 A lynx has a completely black-tipped tail, while a bobcat has a white ring below the black tip.
Stop by to wish Bebe a happy birthday! 🐈

Look up. Alberta's got 400 reasons to! 🐦
This spring, we joined the Great Canadian Birdathon to celebrate Birds Canada 50th Anniversary, spotting species across Cochrane's river valleys and the Okotoks foothills and discovering why Alberta's 400+ bird species make this province one of the most remarkable classrooms on Earth.
The Birdathon may have wrapped in May but bird conservation doesn't stop, and neither do we. If our students' curiosity has inspired you, you can still donate to support Birds Canada's work [link in bio 🔗]. Every contribution keeps kids outside and wild spaces thriving.
What's the coolest bird you've spotted in Alberta? Tell us below. 👇

🌿 Discover the Plants and Animals of Nose Hill Park 🌿
Are you curious about the rich cultural significance of Nose Hill and its deep roots in Calgary’s history?
Join us for a meaningful walk through this beautiful natural environment park with Métis biologist Berna-Dean Holland. She’ll be sharing her knowledge about the plants and animals in the area based on her lived experiences and their cultural importance and uses for Métis people.
🖊️ During the walk, you’ll also take part in a journaling and drawing activity—this is a chance to slow down and reflect about what you’ve learned in a creative and personal way. This is a unique opportunity to connect with nature, culture, and community.
