đź“– Verse of the Week

"And above all things have fervent love for one another, for 'love will cover a multitude of sins.'"
— 1 Peter 4:8 (NKJV)

Peter reminds believers that one of the greatest marks of Christian maturity is fervent love. This isn't a casual or convenient love—it is a persistent, intentional love that chooses grace, forgiveness, and unity even when relationships become difficult.

When Peter says that "love will cover a multitude of sins," he is not suggesting that we ignore sin or pretend it doesn't exist. Rather, he is teaching that genuine love is willing to forgive offenses, extend mercy, and seek reconciliation instead of holding grudges or looking for reasons to be offended.

In a world that often encourages division, criticism, and canceling others, Christians are called to a higher standard—one of sacrificial love.

Practical Application:
This week, ask yourself:

Is there someone I need to forgive?
Am I showing grace when others make mistakes?
Am I building unity or creating division?
Choose one practical act of love today—a kind word, an encouraging message, a forgiven offense, or a helping hand. Small acts of love can have a powerful impact.

❤️ Love doesn't keep score. Love seeks restoration.

🤔 Do beliefs actually matter if we're sincere?

Many people believe that sincerity is what matters most.

But what if we're sincerely wrong?

In Part 2 of The Why Series — More Than Blind Faith, we're exploring a powerful reality:

What you believe determines how you live.

Every day, our beliefs influence our decisions, values, relationships, identity, and purpose. Whether we realize it or not, our worldview shapes how we see ourselves and the world around us.

In this week's post, we'll examine: 📍 Why sincerity alone doesn't make something true 🩺 How wrong beliefs can still have real consequences ⚖️ How beliefs shape our understanding of right and wrong 🎯 Why truth influences our identity and purpose

Using practical examples, we'll see why truth matters far beyond the classroom or church—it affects everyday life.

📖 "There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death." — Proverbs 14:12

Because what we believe doesn't just stay in our minds.

It shapes everything.

đź’¬ What's one belief that has significantly impacted the way you live?

Everyone believes something.
But how often do we stop and ask… why?

Welcome to The Why Series — More Than Blind Faith — a new weekly apologetics series from Victory Bible College designed to help believers understand what they believe and why they believe it.

Because Christianity was never meant to be blind faith.
It’s a faith grounded in truth.

We’re starting with one of the biggest questions of all:

âť“ Why Does Truth Matter?

In a world that says “live your truth,” we’re exploring:
• What truth actually is
• Whether truth is objective or personal
• Why truth matters for morality, logic, and communication
• What Jesus meant when He said, “I am the truth”

Follow along every Friday as we dive deeper into faith, truth, and apologetics.

🤔 What even is truth?

Most people agree that truth matters.

But what exactly is truth?

Today, our culture often speaks of "my truth" and "your truth," suggesting that truth is something each person defines for themselves. But is that really how truth works?

Can two completely opposite claims both be true?

In Part 1 of our Why Truth Matters mini-series, we're exploring the foundation of every worldview, every belief system, and every meaningful conversation: truth itself.

We'll touch on:
• The difference between objective truth and personal opinion
• The influence of "my truth" culture
• Why truth is necessary for logic and communication

If truth is real, then it isn't something we invent—it is something we discover.

💬 What do you think? How would you define truth in one sentence?

Verse of the Week - Psalm 42:11 NKJV

"Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God; For I shall yet praise Him, The help of my countenance and my God."

Have you ever felt discouraged, overwhelmed, or weighed down by life's circumstances?

The psalmist understood those feelings well. Yet instead of allowing his emotions to define his outlook, he reminded himself where his hope was found: in God.

Faith doesn't mean we never struggle. It means that in the middle of our struggles, we choose to place our trust in the One who is faithful.

No matter what challenges you face today, remember that your circumstances do not have the final word. God does.

When fear rises, choose hope.
When doubts come, choose faith.
When life feels heavy, choose to trust in the Lord.

Our hope is not found in changing circumstances—it is found in an unchanging God.

🙏 What is one thing you are trusting God for today?

ACTIVATE YOUR FAITH - LIVE YOUR DREAM

“Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that you can ask or think according to the power that works in us” - Eph 3:20

Joshua 1:8 Think right - Ask Right - Do it right.
Read Isa 55:8-92. Cor 5:7 “We Walk by faith not by sight.”

The devil doesn’t mind you thinking and even speaking words of faith if you don’t take steps of faith.

1. The Dreams I like are those that come from deep imaginative thinking inspired by God’s Word and prayer..

Nehemiah 1&2: Nehemiah received news about Gods people and work, then he prayed and fasted for four months, and the opportunity came. v12 “What my God had put in my heart to do at Jerusalem.” Heart power is stronger than head power! I am convinced that doing big things for God and with God starts with a big dream. Vision is empowering to the person who has it. It will give you a glimpse of what the future could look like if you do certain things. All risk taking begins with the word Vision or Imagine. David had killed the bear, and the Lion, now he is about to face Goliath, and he said, “he will be like one of them.” Before he killed Goliath, he could see the outcome in his imagination, and it empowered him to run towards the giant and slay Goliath with one of his five stones in a sling shot!

Albert Einstein said, “Your imagination is a preview of your life’s coming attraction”

2. Before God can use people in a big way He has to expand their thinking.

He takes you on a journey to expand your mind. I built my first Church on 43 acres of land. After I bought the land and made plans, I began to panic when I realized how much it was going to cost. So, my wife and I went down to Oral Roberts University and saw how he had purchased 500 acres of land and built a whole Christian Complex on it. I said to myself, “if the God I serve can do this for Oral Roberts, then He can certainly do this small 43-acre project for me.” So, we stepped out in faith and God came through for us.

God said in Jeremiah 33:3 “Call to Me, and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things which you do not know.” He is the God who showed Fleming how to take a piece of molding bread and turn it into the miracle of Penicillin and showed Edison how to make the light bulb.

John D Rockefeller read Gen 6:14. When Noah built the ark, he was told to put pitch all over it. Rockefeller knew that where there was pitch there was oil, so he found out where the ark was built in the Middle East, dug an oil well there and struck oil! Rockefeller was a northern Baptist and gave $80 million to a struggling Bible College that eventually became the University of Chicago. Rockefeller said, he lived by John Wesley’s dictum on finances, “gain all you can by honest means, save all you can by being thrifty and give all you can by being generous.”

3. The process of a Dream is like this: I thought it, I sought it, I caught it, I got it.

The future belongs to those who are willing to invest in it. In Hebrews 11 all the Heroes of faith had a Dream; they kept trying, learning and expanding Gods kingdom. Exodus 14:15

Henry John Heinz founder of the Heinz 57 varieties said two things directed his life and kept him going through a lot of unusual joys and sorrows: His devotion to God and an Unshakable Dream of his destiny. We Dream, Live the Dream and Dream Again!

Psalm 105:17-19 Joseph was a dreamer. There are many dream thieves that you need to protect against, like fear, negativity, poverty, discouragement.

Jeremiah 1:5-7 Jeremiah gave place to self-imposed limitations and God rebuked him. Don’t say you can’t when God says you can. (Phil 4:13)

Psalm 27:13 “If I hadn’t believed to see the goodness of God in the land of the living I would have fainted.” What you believe, expect. William Carey said, “Attempt great things for God; Expect great things from God.”
