The newly elected Graduate Students’ Association (GSA) Executive Council visited the Foothills Campus to learn more about the Foothills graduate student environment, campus culture, and the operations and advocacy work carried out by the Foothills Graduate Association (FGA).

The discussion focused on continuing to strengthen the active involvement and presence of the GSA at Foothills, enhancing collaboration on events and advocacy initiatives, and building a more connected and engaged graduate student community across campuses.

We truly appreciated the meaningful conversations and look forward to continuing this strong partnership between the FGA and GSA to further enhance graduate student life at the University of Calgary.

EmpowerU: Self-Defense for Everyone is a trauma-informed, research-based workshop designed to help you set boundaries, trust your instincts, and navigate challenging situations with confidence. This isn’t your typical self-defense class—it’s a holistic empowerment experience focused on real-life skills and personal safety.

Join the Foothills Graduate Association (FGA) and the Sexual and Gender-Based Violence Prevention and Support Office on Wednesday, April 29 from 2:00–4:00 PM at the HRIC Atrium for the first-ever EmpowerU session at Foothills Campus. Link in bio!

In collaboration with the GSA VP of Student Life, GSA EDIA committee, GSA NISS committee, and VMGSA, we hosted The Multicultural Event. Hosting food and cultural artifacts from more than 10 countries, students and staff had a chance to celebrate the greater diversity that strengthens the university community. Thank you to all that participated, helped with the event, and attended!

This is your chance to step into a leadership role and help shape the Foothills graduate student community. Positions include President, Vice-President, VP Finance, VP Communications, EDI Chair(s), and MHW Chair(s).

🎨 Doodle Booth
Hannah and Sherri from Sci Walks will be hosting a live doodle booth — a photo-booth–style experience, but hand-drawn. In just 3–5 minutes, they’ll create a custom doodle portrait of you or your group. Cost: $2 per drawing.

💖 Gratitude Board
Take a moment to reflect and share. Write what you’re grateful for on heart-shaped notes and add them to our community gratitude board near the entrance/exit.
